Will it come back? Eventually yes. A sealant/wax with UV protection helps and has meant I’ve only had to do this two years after I originally did it but with the factory protective layer gone it’s only a matter of time.
I’m mainly doing it as I’m prepping it to sell. They weren’t in a terrible state before.
Could go with some sort of clear coat I suppose but never really investigated it.

There are some good guides on YouTube - check out Ammo NYC. I wet sanded with progressively finer paper from 240 -> 1500 before polishing with DA polisher. Useful to go North/south and then east/west each time you change grit so you can see you’ve effectively removed the previous grits sanding marks.
Don’t have a before and after I’m afraid but do have a during and after

- Front bumper is cracked on the bottom edge and a few small spots of flaking paint
- Small ding (10p) in the driver's door from someone carelessly opening their door into it
- Bonnet has a crusty leading edge on the underside and it's been (poorly) resprayed by hand
- Missing one of the plastic wheel centres
I've lined up a better (colour correct) replacement for the bonnet if it puts people off and I can get a replacement wheel centre easily enough on ebay.
Headlights had yellowed but now rectified and looking like new.

Think the time has come to sell my Clio 182. Not using it enough to justify keeping it. Before I advertise it elsewhere just wanted to check whether anyone here fancied it.
133k miles, well maintained, extensive maintenance/service records. It's mechanically sound and runs really nicely and I've not been shy with maintenance in the 2 yrs I've owned it. Cosmetically its alright but far from perfect. Give me a shout if interested, can give all the details - thinking around £2k.

The shell looks remarkably okay given where its parked but I imagine the underside is hiding all sorts of horrors. Its matters not though; I managed to get hold of the owner over the weekend - "the car is not for sale". Not even interested to hear what I might offer him.
I should have made a bet him that it'll still be there in a year. If he moves it I'll pay him £500, if he doesn't I get the car.

Went to look at the 405 again this afternoon. Looks like it was last on the road in 2004 based on the tax disc and a peek inside shows its on 140k miles. I'm guessing theres a probably a (mechanical) reason why it was parked up in 2004 and doesn't look to have moved since.
Found a few clues as to who might own it so will see if I can get in touch to find out more.

I think the 2.0 was introduced in 1992 and this one was registered in Oct '91 so may well be a series one. Been doing some reading over night and I do really like the idea of restoring it... that would mean figuring out who owns it and them agreeing to sell it to me for a reasonable amount.
There's no MOT information about it online which means the earliest it was last on the road was 15 years ago.
The drivers window was open so I'll stick my head in today to see if there any clues.
