You got my countdown perfect Andy... I think it was Dommy you forgot about.
And my time wasn't half bad, thankyou very much! There I was, waiting for my 10 seconds...
"Oh fuck, sorry, 765...4.....3.....2.....1"
To be fair the the sheepish "sorry!" as I rode off made me chuckle.
Next year you need to do the full 5 finger countdown and say it in French for maximum effect.

It was the Giro, not the Tour.
I had the pleasure of meeting Fiorenzo Magni a few years ago, he's a gentleman.
Fiorenzo Magni rides into second place in the '56 TdF with a broken collar bone, biting down on a piece of handlebar tape for the pain. HTFU personified.
He was actually using that piece of tape to operate his back brake because he couldn't do it with his hand.

Veloce is a pretty entry level groupset so I think the chances of them being serviceable or of you getting parts would be slim.
Totally wrong. All ergo levers can be fully disassembled, parts changed and re-assembled.
If you're feeling brave you can do it yourself with the help of the following resources:-
You haven't said what speed your levers are or whether they are the older 'Escape' type or the newer 'Power shift' type, so I've put links to both
Ergopower 'Escape' levers overhaul video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_2G5NgluQM&feature=related
there's probably one for power shift levers somewhere.
This page on the campag website has spare parts diagrams - once you've identified which bits you need you can get the code and order from somewhere like Condor Cycles or Mercian
If you want someone to do it for you then Bike Whisperer, I believe Mercian also service them as well

It's the levers that do the click, not the rear mech.
Unattach the cable from the rear mech, see if the lever still clicks. If it doesn't then its fucked and needs an overhaul.
If it does, it might be something in the rear mech. Clean and lube is your first task, then re-attach the cable and try re-indexing.

The way I found it easiest to remember was that you screw the pedals on by turning them towards the front of the bike, and unscrew them towards the back.
