My first time down, enjoyed most of it but felt the aggro didn't really help get any kind of message across and just got people wound up.
Maybe some kinda flyers to hand out would help, something to explain what we're doing there and encouraging drivers to be more aware of cyclists, with a little thanks for their patience. But I'm sure this has been tried before.
Did like the Queen Vicky merry-go-round though .............

Been following this thread on and off, just wanted to say great work by all involved. So impressed by the effort that's going into this and hope I can help out in any way.
I'm definitely available for distributing cards and info as I work outdoors most days in different parts of London.
Keep up the good work .......

True, hippy.
It usually seems to be when I'm filtering through traffic and people think it's a great time to jump out of a cab or just pull over to drop someone off. There's not always space to give them a wide berth and they don't bother looking as the traffic's not moving (as all they see are cars not bikes).

Dooks, this must have been bad as you're usually chilled out ......
I'm lucky enough to have one of those faces that unintentionally invites people to open their car doors just as I'm approaching them.
I often find that once I've got steamed up with one incident I really have to take a deep breath and laugh/scream it off, otherwise I become a maniac myself and get it in my head that everyone else is wrong and everyone's out to get me, even though it's probably me riding badly in a rage. -
Think the clip really brings it home, very sad news for the family and friends.
I ride a motorbike when I'm not cycling places and have just taken my test, that really helped teach me to think about defensive positioning and road awareness, not just what I'm doing but what everyone else is doing around me. Still get scared every time a truck or bus steams past inches from me or cuts me up at a junction, but I just slow down to get a bit of space and chalk it up as another near miss.
Until there's a massive change in attitudes from those people who consider the car as king of the road, or there's a reduction in speed limits to 20 mph in major towns and cities we'll all still be at risk, so as responsible cyclists we have to make sure we don't act in a way that adds to the danger.

Thanks provenrad,
Already tried to break it by hammering around on it like a tool when the spokes on the back wheel were loose, managed to buckle it slightly before I twigged what the problem was. Have now tightened it up but it still wobbles nicely, will have to get it sorted sometime soon.
Keep the tyres at about 110, they're just not photogenic ....

It's my first post so I guess it's the right time to say 'hi'. Loving the site, have been browsing the threads and enjoying the photos, some great bikes on here.
Am currently slowly working on my first ss project but it's a long way from finished, does the job at the moment though and has given me a lot of fun so far. Next project will definitely be a fixie though. Any advice on the current bike will be much appreciated.
Hope to see some of you around .....
Cranksets could be interesting for polo bikes too, only £20 for the cheap one ....
