Took a trip to london today from somerset. Usually spot one or two fixed gears. Today, i was on the road to the chiswick roundabout (by evans bike shop) and spotted what I believe to be a single speed. Narrow risers, orange deep v's (i think) Wearing a helmet, wind breaker and jeans. Nice looking ride. Had a good old stare from the van window. Think the frame was black? Anyone here?

@ blankface, sorry mate i was replying to davidjohnclap!!
As for being stoked on riding, that is the key!! My first fixed will be finished tomorrow, and i just cannot wait. It's been sat in our workshop for about 4 months. Been adding each component week by week. So satisfying to watch it come together. Building your own bike is loads of fun, but riding it must be something else......we'll see!!!!

Saw a couple of fixed gear bikes locked up out side that big bike shop at the bottom of park street, where the big music shop used to be/is? (i'm not local!)
Didn't get a real good look, but one brakeless with a brooks saddle, and one with white front brake.
Was yesterday, friday 2nd Jan. Any takers? One looked like a surly..... but was whizzing by in me car.
Went into american apparell too as it happens, but only downstairs with my wife. I'll come up and shout davidjohnclapp next time and see what heappens!!!

I think a bit of nofx or mxpx, would work well if you're running a little behind!!
I guess if you do ride in heavy traffic, but know you're route and it's hazards, traffic wise, you could always pull out an ear bud or both at those areas, just to be sure?
Pete Rock and Cl Smooth help me keep it slick and relaxed!!
(not saying traffic hazards aren't bloody everywhere, but certain junctions or roundabouts in my town are definately 'ears open' areas!!)

Hi guys,
Got the sugino 103mm 24tpi bb and the drive side went in like a dream, right up to the lip. The chainline looks very spot on. Just need a bb tool now, to tighten it all up. I could only get the left side to thread in so far, just think the threads need a clean and give it a bit of welly with the king dick.
Thanks for all who posted, all very helpful. Getting close to finished now.
