Hi guys just a quick intro may be a bit overdue and will hopefully inspire less farmyard bird comments
always loved my bikes especially all things retro and simple where i could restre build customs etc, the tech of MTB's has always left me a bit confused.
over last few years been involved in the retro raleigh clubs,
built from the ground up this little lot....restored this bomber for cruising around St Andrews home of golf when i was there for a year,
sold all these and bought my NS Core, awesome company and brilliant bike, combines all the appeals of BMX, simple funky website eithout an emphasis on xt this carbon that, simple functional bikes fit for purpose....
moved to London from Glasgow 2 weeks ago, been hankering for a fixed speed ever since i seen a charge plug while looking into buying a charge freeride MTB.
now determined to use my move here as an excuse to get or build one
all the best guys

i apoligise i was just being dry.
no worries man, wouldnt normally have rattled my cage just had a stream of it in the last ten mins,
all advice duly taken on board
D14 VDH relates to my car reg ( im willing to take some serious stick for that one lol) left it in Glasgow tho enjoying extra riding time instead.if the mods can move this thread to the relevant section that would be great

I'd recommend looking on this forums 'classifieds' section and e-bay for the basis of a restoration project. I appreciate the urge to tinker and restore. You can find a lot on this already here by using the search function. (which coincidentally is what all of the above are not saying).
the Charge plug is a brilliant first OTP. Although I can say that it is probably better and cheaper to build a bike up rather than getting an otp as you will invariably want to change most everything apart from the frame quite quickly.cheers man yeah i dont think id ever be truely satisfied with an OTP it would defo need to be second hand if i was doing it as i would want to change parts as you point out
appreciate the reply

it's just that people who use words "fixie" and "scene" tend to get crucified.
ah ok, yup can understand that,
there must be a certain element of people doing it for purely fashion reasons jumping on the commercial bandwagon etc which gives rise to the dogtown locals only
thats my ignorance and i'll make appropriate edits
i will also stick up an introduction thread with some photos of my bikes past and present
cheers for the first instruction

of course. man when you show bread to pigeons they go for it don't they?
lol yeah true, im just not well versed in the etiquitte of this forum i guess,
maybe im too used to co-operative friendly bmx forums where everyone recognises a common interest and the benefits that can bring
also im not sure how anyone new or even ignorant of thse bikes and the surrounding scene can hope to break in
i cant gain experience unless people are patient and allow me to learn -

Hooray!
Have you spammed every motorbike forum the UK as well?
'spammed' i genuinely dont understand,
i really think some for of explanation for both 'cock' and 'spammed' is required.
ive been a visitor on here for some time, perhaps its unfortunate that one of my initial posts was a sale thread, however i dont intend to fill the forum up with unrelated ebay threads.
however as i say if you can point me towards some form of forum 'rules' i'll be happy to comply in future. -

That lock is nigh-on useless unless you already have a fuck-off length of strong chain or want to use it for a motor bike disc brake.
I know because I have both it and the preceding model.yup thats what i discovered, and added that in my description on the bay,
great for motorbike discs
great if you are using a length of cable for QR parts
great to replace substandard padlocks that come with a lot of heavy duty chainsif it doesnt sell i'll use it for this last purpose
cheers!

dont understand the whole 'cock, re-cock' thing,
on other forums i use its customary to add a thread to emphasise to specific audiences who have a related interest a sale that they may otherwise have missed
is there a rule about this on this site i may have missed that could have been explained rather than insulting twofold a new member or was alienation your goal? -
Ive been bitten by the bug guys...
ive migrated from bmx to fixed speeds or single speeds,
i was an avid bmx collector and restorer, loved my raleigh burners due to the memories now ive moved to (just 2 weeks ago from Glasgow) and think fixies would be a good progression for me, seems to be the same kind of enthusiasm, creativity and a healthy forums like bmx so sounds good to me....i want to ease myself in and was hoping someone had something on offer to fit my bill...
a second hand plug would be great
or an old raleigh racer that i could start to evolve my own from would be awesome too,
basically im open to suggestions so let me know what you got!
went into brick lane bikes and ive priced up a full custom build that i can get through works scheme ( may as well take advantage)
but fancy being able to build mine up from a good base so let me see what ure selling.i believe the correct size for me is 21'' or 53cm there or thereabouts
hope to hear from you soon
Davidbest i can do cant edit title

if you have something to says, then says something, like hello for instance, or bonjour if you're french, whatever greeting you like, but if you have nothing, fuck off, harsh but fair.
its got to be on an existing thread tho mate so tell me how that works, i have to trawl through and find existing threads that say what i want to say and add on to that, but if its outwith what you consider an acceptable time scale then i shouldnt?!
5 posts mate how many times can i say hello, maybe i should say it in 5 different languages.
im sure you would have had something to say if id just written on 5 random recent posts,
thanks for forcing me to reply, taking up another of my nursery 5 and bumping this thread again....ps that scorpio is lookin sweet
good job -
