Hello all,
The bottom bracket on my bike is about 26cm's from the floor. Which I think is quite low? Anyway, I've got 170mm cranks on there, and am always wary of clipping the floor when cornering. So, I was thinking of getting some shorter cranks, to give myself a little more clearance. (only get less than 90mm at the mo, infact less still taking in to consideration pedal depth and 'toe pointing')
I was just wondering if anyone had recently made a crank change like this and noticed any particlur loss of leverage etc, making it hard work to cycle/ start off/ maintain speed etc... Or if anyone has any general crank related tips...
Cheers all.

I cycled home the other night after a "do". Now, the plan was a couple of beers, a few orange juices, and an early evening ride home. Now, the beer was free. All of them. The cocktails were free. All of them. The time was three (which ryhmes with 3).
I had thought to myself, I'll just take it easy, go slow and be very careful, but! It turns out I had zero control. I couldn't stay straight no matter how hard I tried. Kept swinging widly out into the road, across to the other side and all sorts. I was thinking, man, if a car's coming behind me or the other way, I'm fucked.
Balance issues contiuned, and I soon found myself sprawled over the bonnet of a car. But it was stopped, and waiting for me, and I just fell into it! The guy was shouting at me like "what the fuck are you doing?" I could only reply "I don't know".
Sufficied to say, I didn't enjoy the experience at all. And won't be doing it again. Cycling that drunk is different to a couple of pints (which still think isn't a good idea) All the near misses are a bit much for me to take. And all the unkown injuries in the morning too...
Any way, I'm out on Friday night, and everyone has already banned me from cycling home! For my own good.

Dear all,
Just a quick question to see if anyone has any recommended places to lock up yr bike around Liverpool St station - notorious theft hot-spot....
I've locked it with the others in front of macdonalds before, but only for a few hours, doesn't feel safe enough for prolonged night time storage!
And also, do people really steal saddles?
Thanks in advance.

coming from waterloo bridge crossing strand/aldwych up towards covent garden...where the cycle path goes over the pavement. twats on their crackberrys.
Too true. The other day, coming back the other way.. a massive peleton had formed, waiting for the little orange bike, and this guy strolls right into the middle of the lane on his mobile and just stands there. Facing the other way.
Lights change and storm cloud of un-forgiving cycles burn past him from all sides. I swear he shit himself.
