The guy who painted my frame (Azzy Paints) insisted that I did not use a sand blaster as the finish is too coarse to spray and leave a nice finish. I'm now making a bit on the side blasting bits for him. Ssssshhhhh don't tell my boss!

I know people have used a seat clamp (see sttached) but this was on BMX frames and I would imagine that they would have thicket stays. Also you could try fashioning a bracket out of a the long metal strip used for securing the rear of a car stereo.
Possibly a hose clip!

We have a bead blaster at work and it gives a much nicer finish and is less brutal than a sand blaster.
