My first forum ride and certainly of first of many (i hope)!
Great day out, good riding and ace company!
What a thoroughly nice bunch you all are!
Thank you to Mr. Fresh for his organising skills, and to all who had such kind words for the 'Spooner'!Will be going to the America early May and will sadly miss Vintage Jersey II (Merino's Revenge?) but will definitely be thinking of y'all!
Any of you happen to be in LA and want a run out May-Aug then shout! -

Apologies if this sounds a bit hippy but I too am currently 'freelancing/resting' and its not a great place to be all the time, but reading stuff like this and speaking to people in your industry now and then is a bloody good idea just to remind yourself that you are not alone and you are not an unemployable fool!
Doesn't help you earn anything but it does keep you sane!

just had a friend come back from being in LA he's heading back out there in may i think, and he was working in a bike kitchen out there, will mail him for info, and let you know...
That'd be me then!
Plans are a little uncertain at the minute but I hope to be out there again about then, I need to earn some cash though so I can't be 100% on when I'm out next...
I did a couple of shifts at the bicycle kitchen but was too flakey to keep up going there as much as I should have, maybe if I get back I'll try again!
Mackenzie, I'll give you a shout if I'm in town when you are, it'd be great to have someone to ride with - most of my favourite routes all went from the canyon where we were living and seemed to end at the coast, they weren't all amazing roads, and the general standard of car driver is scary, but its such a cool way to see the city and learn the different neighborhoods... oh.. and it wasn't raining! (all the time!) -

I am interested have you got decals for it?
and how cool is this "hill-climb" special
The hill climber is a splendid beast!
I'm hoping when the paint comes off my frame will have the same chrome lugs as the second one on the page... I haven't got decals yet but I do have a number for Mr Spooner that the people who boght his old shop gave me, they were pretty sure he'd have some.
Otherwise I may well remake them, get rub downs made and lacquer over them? -
Hello forum!
I ride a single speed and occasionally fixed (learning!) 80's road bike around london!
Its a hand built frame by a guy called John Spooner, curly lugs and nice to ride...
Like a much more beaten version of the second one on here http://www.classiclightweights.co.uk/builders/spooner-cb.htmlI'm currently restoring and updating it and hope to have a nice old school 'gentlemans' bike
at the end of it, probably keeping it SS and then maybe start a new build for a fixed track bike.
Its going to be resprayed soon and then i'll try and work out how to put a picture
in the projects thread......that is probably of no interest to anyone, but you've got to start somewhere!

If its drilled for a front brake I'd love to take Harry off your hands!
