of course.
providing we time departure to arrive at the cutty sark in time for opening again and corny has a rear wheel that works.
:)
i love this ride.
@ Corney, I must say resisting the offered pint of Guinness, in Grenwich, was probably the hardest part of this ride for me.
A fabulous day out, with friends old and new.
Bring it on...

Anyone got any more accommodation options?
Trust me, you will not be sleeping the night before, with the nerves and excitement, so go cheap and cheerful rather than expensive.
Look for somewhere convenient to the start, to make the opening of this magnificent adventure as hassle free as possible.
Oh, and good luck. The sense of achivement as you summit the Galibier, with the crowds baying like wolves, and breathing beer and sun tan oil in your face, is something you will never forget.

Potentially in for first forum ride , is brakelss ok for this ? and 80gi too high?
I am sure YAL will confirm, but that is a big gear to be trying to push up Turners and Ditchling, and you really will need brakes on the desents.
These are open roads, with plenty of debris from the wind and rain, and no one wants a trip to A&E due to some collateral damage.

Chapeau to Ludd and Bernie for their excellent leading and brooming respectively. Great ride with great folks!
Thanks for the kind words, but the laurels must go to Ludd.
Organising and chaperoning such a well attended ride with a quiet, easy charm, and a gracious pint proffered when I arrived with my rear guard platoon.
A cracking day out, thanks everyone for your humour and company.

Sorry for the delay in getting these snaps up, but safely back from Cambridge ride, and wanted to cap this off.
Thanks again, Gentlemen and Lady, a ride that will not be forgotten for some time.

Some people are saying its going to be heavy rain tomorrow...but I don't see the rain, I only see what needs to be done. See you all tomorrow!
Oh man, well said.
"Me thinks, what is a sprinkling of precipitation, when a gentleman can avail himself of meriment in the finest of company, emblazoned with the glorious Autumnal hues of a promenade through the Chilterns, and the glittering spires, and foaming ales, of the city on the Ox."
or
HTFU as more modern protagonists, might say...

Banged up the hand I broke a bone in recently on the way home tonight. Not sure I'm gonna make it tomorrow.
Have prepped the bike in anticipation anyway. Decision will likely be last minute depending on how the hand feels, so if I don't turn up at Tooting Broadway on time then don't delay on my account.
Good luck tomorrow, would be great if you can join us, but no pressure.
Get some sleep team, it could get messy tomorrow night...

Ha!
Unfortunately, Upstart is poorly, and will not be able to attend.
Can anyone else upload the Garmin data file posted on this thread, to give us some guidance and comfort on the ride?
Many thanks, and see ewe all tomorrow.
Oh, and please no posting on this thread post 8:30am tomorrow, when we are riding.
Ring the mobiles so we are sure to hear the call.

A Des-shaped bonus!
Indeed, great to see that he can join us.
And, further happy news, in that the hotel are going to lock our bikes up overnight, so we do not have to haul locks and cables with us for the trip!
OK, so most have signified if they will be at Tooting, or catching the train. Let me know if there are any problems, and make sure your bike is ready and waiting for an epic ride out.

"Amen to that brother..."
If Si offers to fit a carbon seat post, refuse unless there is plenty of lube.
