Another very smart scam happen at my work in Camden off Parkway last year.. we had a courtyard in our office off the busy one way road, twenty odd bikes parked there, CCTV coverage, people coming and going every second.. there are guys with bikes looking like couriers broad day light scoping every locked bike in the joint, lock their bike next one they want to steal...then go into reception with a duff address looking lost... come out pick lock on expensive vunerable bike make off.. leaving their shite behind.. I lost a £2grand bike that way.. serves me fucking right for commuting twenty minutes on a campag record holeburner.. saw the bike gone on CCTV too.. probably got sold on for £500.. sickening yes.. lesson taught yes..

I have a ABUS STEEL CHAIN and meaty lock for a motocycle.. cost me £80.. it won't stop them..I would recommend getting your bike tagged, electronically, for £28 with datatag chip it is a deterrent bike labelled up. It might get stolen but if recovered easy traced back to you.. harden the fuck up, cos it will happen one day.. don't be precious.. riding fixxed is about mobility not bling..

Hippy and MikeC, I use to ride RP most winter saturdays, trek over from NW8, three laps with the FIREFLIES bacon and egg butty afterward then ride back home, a decent round trip and out of the house for 3hours.. not anymore since the road bike is in pieces now, and i have started to enjoy my weekend lay-ins, but it did surprise me that some people drove there first.. I am all for charging cars into RP.. tollgates at every entrance I say..
