cheers mumbler - i commute into LPS so that would be great, any chance of a ride on monday? can do mid morning to anytime? i work in north soho (goodge st area) if its easier to meet at lunchtime?
thanks andy - apparently i have a long top half for my height! fuji's are center to top so i might be looking at the 56 then.
-
ok andyp - can you advise on whether a 5'11andabit" bloke with an inseam of about 83cm would best fit a 54 or 56 fuji track? im used to mountain bikes, small ones as I race 4X and BMX, road sizing feels very weird - massive. I think using this calc (http://www.coloradocyclist.com/bikefit/) I'm mean to be 56 but Im so used to small frames so it feels un-nerving. Ive ridden a 56 but cant find a 54 in stock anywhere to test it out. want to order one before the 09's come in because they are really quite ugly.

pearson still seem to have the giant for 225:
http://www.pearsoncycles.co.uk/product/3277/GIANT_BOWERY_SINGLE_SPEED_CLEARANCE_RRP_350_SAVE_125_NOW_22500I rode a giant (and loads of other OTP) very recently - the giant didnt suit my body shape or I'd have ordered one already. Seemed a good buy though, especially at 225. It felt to me (though I'm new to road sizings) that the large was bigger than the stated size (55 or 55.5 I think) felt a centimeter or so bigger than stated size.

Shimano do make a 16t - chain reaction cycles sell em - next day delivery usually.
I've found that every Shimano cheap freewheel has its own quirks. Ive had about 6 in the last 10 years and some last ages, some only a few months, some slip a bit and some dont. Dicta are quite poor ACS are the best budget-ish freewheel if you cant stretch to a white.

Will consider most things so if you're looking to shift a used off the peg i'd probably be interested. Must have a flip flop hub and pref a brake - or at least a drilling for one.
Been considering a new OTP or cheap custom from somewhere like brick lane bikes but if there's any used ones out there needing recycling, drop me an email on stevenbennettday[AT]gmail[DOT]com
Prefer steel but not that fussy if the price is good.

Personally I think everyone should own, love then disown a fuji by way of apprenticeship
that might be advice im about to take! im from an mtb bg so road is new. dont want to spend much at first.
ridden a giant bowrey - not too keen on sizings for me
ridden a spec langster - felt pretty good
charge plug - feels heavy like an mtb
trying to get my leg over a fillimore and a fuji this afternoon :) -

Ok - just test ridden a 56 Langster and its a good fit. Looking at the cheap Giant Lowry (http://www.pearsoncycles.co.uk/page/114/Bowery) as its so cheap its impossible to ignore, will the Large (55.5) be a similar size? Sorry for numpty questions, I'm not sure on road bike geometry etc.
