first proper decent length fixed ride today on a fuji track. apart from learning i need to clip my feet in, and remember not to try and freewheel - it was pretty good.
struggling to keep the chain right tight, i know they'll stretch a bit, but if i was going to pop tensioners on, which are the best? i use the profile ones on my bmx cruiser but they look a bit over kill for the track bike.

if mike has run out and you're looking for used one try posting in the classifieds on:
singletrackworld.com - lots of mtb single speeders on there.might be worth giving head for the hills a bell to:

big up here for holcros cycles - ordered a fuji track which was out of stock with them, they called fuji and had it delivered to me in less than 24 hours, and beat everyone else's prices too.
also big up for wiggle - ordered a brake at about 4pm yesterday, arrived at 8am today with standard free postage. also had some really good customer service help from wiggle a couple of months ago, they are probably better than chainreaction now for speed and service.

Hi gogosama - im same height as you, maybe a tad taller. I test rode a med and a large, I think they come up slightly on the large side compared to other similar bikes I tested. Large was a little too large for me, but medium felt a little compact.
GA2G has one - http://www.londonfgss.com/thread9085-2.html

yeah - i went to st pauls this lunchtime to have a look - at something else which wasnt in stock when i got there, so i had a go on the capo to see what 'a non langster alu was like' they dont have my size anyway, id be a 54 in the capo, the 52 and 56 in the store were either side, had a bash on a charge too, and im a small in the charge! i couldn't ride the 09 capo even if it was the best feeling bike id ever ridden, its ghastly, good call to buy it now i think!

last questions about fuji sizes - sorry.
can't find a 54 anywhere in london to try out, so will have to mail order. did ride a 56 a couple of weeks ago, felt ok, im not used to road frames so it felt big, and ive noticed with all the bikes Ive tried out, each brand sizes them up differently.
I'm 5'11" used to riding bmx/mtb. the sizing guides seem to put me at 55/56, but some brands 56 bikes are huge.
if you ride a fuji how tall are you and what size do you ride.
thanks

Like the look of the CAPO :)
I was on the verge of ordering a fuji track as my first fixed yesterday as it seems a good price to introduce me to the road, and ive got too many mtb's so dont want to spend a load, just get fitter, faster. but then i though ok ive got to change the sprocket to an 18t, add a brake, probably change the tyres, that brings it to 350/360, should i not just spend more on something else?
started to review the charge - thought the basic one was ok, but would add drops.
bugger - im all indecisive now :(
have ridden a bowrey, didnt like the sizing, ridden a charge racer, ok but incredibly predictable, rode a fuji track, was twitchy which i oddly like as it reminds me of bmx handling, which i like, rode a fillimore and just plain didn't like it, rode a bianchi pista which i liked but thought at the time too expensive as a starter, not keen on the chrome, langster - ok but a bit predictable.
im stuck now :(

ta - will look at the MKS ones.
thanks tynan - ive always called them tensioners rather than tugs, but i see thats confusing now.
