I need to repalce my seatpost, the ITM one in my old frame is 26.4mm (engraved)
However when I measure it with my calipers it says 26mm, and when I try and put a modern 26,4mm seatpost in it refuses to fit. the diameter is obviously 26mm... but why the hell does it say 26.4mm on the seatpost? (the .4 is superscript if that means anything?) cheers -
I am very interested In doing a framebuilding course, undoubtedly it would provide me with an insight to professional skills in brazing, alignment and so forth. My big question, however, is that of the quality of the frame you leave with. The materials would be good and obviously I would have professional supervision but I can't imagine my first ever frame would be first rate quality. Surely skills in fine brazing take an age to learn? I wouldn't want to leave with a second rate frame with sloppy joints... Maybe I am being pessimistic?

Right, I'm having difficulty finding a Precisa with a long enough steerer for my headtube. I need a steerer of around 19.5cm... maybe its a long shot. All of the ones I have seen on ebay are either extortionate or with a very short steerer. Do any frame builders swap steerers? and If so does anyone know what sort of price this would be?
Man thanks!

Yeah tis, I may order some handlebar mount clamps, not sure how I will get on with this though and how it will affect handling with 1.5-2L of liquid weight on my handlebars
