That's cool so thanks all for the advice. I'll give 'em a go. Either way Open Pro are p'raps my favourite rims and @skunkworks, got myself a Principia Track Jet frame as well in the end. Waiting to build it up too but got some Time forks and Time seatpost, deda pista bars, newton stem, SMP composit saddle......getting there, getting there...............Principia in the heyday are just the finest alu frames made methinks.

Open pro rims are light, strong and made well. I've had the normal and the ceramic and the normal ones lasted me 6 years in London and the ceramics are going well after two years, Brake wear is what it is and it'd be unusual to be even close to them wearing out after a year although I do think the ceramic coating is possibly overrated, noticing no difference in braking, wet or dry. On both I've used standard Ultegra pads and with a decent hub, I'd recommend them without reserve. I even had one that rode for more than a year with a huge pothole ding in it. They're just great.

These are great wheels if in good condition. Kysrium SSC SL were pro quality wheels and are beautifully made. Check out the scalloped machining on the rims. Strong, light and some of the most beautiful wheels made. I ride Open Pro on the city bike and these on the road and they are great and well worth the 150.
just a thought

Hope the rider is OK (of course) but just in case you weren't aware, there are dedicated bike routes that run as as an outer concentric circle around the whole double-roundabout of the E&C and they work ok as a mixture of path and back street.Think of it as the Inferno with the bike route being mostly the domain of the bad poets (and students) rather than the road route with it's sublime potential for evil.
and if you're really interested

Maybe I'm on the wrong road but I've never experienced a problem with motor bikes in the bus lane. Facts and figures sure, but experience tells me that motorbikes are generally equally as aware of the road and other users as cyclists. They're ok and they're low volume. Worse thing in a bus lane is some cycling goon wearing headphones at 10 kph with a bus behind enjoying their righteous oblivion. Pull the fuck over if you can't speed up.

Am with Cliveo.
So many reasons why HH should never close and the more support we have, the less likely it will. Under threat for years, most of the residents on Burbage road etc, equally do not want redevelopment. They'd rather have the end of their gardens back on to a velodrome than a bunch of flats. Which is a good thing. So with us and them involved, which seems likely, we must all support it wholeheartedly, every man/woman and crank. Everything in this country seems to be for sale and it is a cheap shame. Particularly when cycling is on the up and space to do so is a premium.

and if it's any help, Open Pro, even now, are the finest basic rim you can buy for the money.. Rode them for 7 years in London, two years in Vancouver on average hubs. Light, box section, pretty, they're an obvious good choice rather than some moody, deep section, style over substance. That have no style anyway.
