What makes you think the frame is an Aende? It seems to lack some of the obvious clues like drilled lugs although you pics are not very clear. A lot of his frames aren't numbered either so even if he was alive checking the original order spec would be difficult.

Which village? I live relatively close but rarely venture into town.

I find that I get a bit of flex/shudder on the Pompetemine forks with a disc brake. What's the verdict on this? Is it normal to have a bit of flex?

I can accept the disappointment of not getting what I wanted but I feel that there should be more disclosure regarding the lottery process for over-subscribed events. It would also be interesting to know what percentage of tickets by price bracket were available for each event. If the chances of getting a ticket were known to be 1000/1 in advance then I don't think people would have been half as pissed off.

But you would never have heard of that.

Frame mounted racks can be slightly disorientating as you can't see the front wheel turning and it can be hard to gauge if you can squeeze the rack through a gap. Also when pushing the bike it's really easy to bash the rack into something. You get used to this though and adjust for it.

Was checking twitter to see if anyone has been debited and the vast majority say nothing has been taken.

A friend of mine had her front wheel damaged beyond repair and is looking for a cheap replacement.

Basically it's your typical Raleigh 3 speed alloy rimmed front wheel. Dutch/loop bike style. Very common.
