Getting your money back and bikes are a rare mix.

Did you get the saddle on that seatpost? I tried a similar combo, Gobi carbon rails and USE Sumo, and it was impossible to get the rails to to slide through onto the mount. Ended up exchanging it.

Just noticed that the 2014 Tour Divide race is underway. Is this competing this year?

DJM778 I have a spare set of Salsa forks in black from the Vaya which are straight and have disc tabs. I have a feeling they are the recalled one's but I can't make out the serial number.

I used to own the pink track frame up there about 6 yrs ago. Seems it has been around a bit since then as it pops up every once in a while.

Hope 90mm 10 degree rise OS Stem (Black). Nice UK alternative to Thomson with similar build quality. Has one or two very small scratches but nothing that is too noticeable.

Joe's Tubeless Rim Strips (XC Presta). Never been used and still in packaging. It says on the box for 17-19mm rim inner width and 26 inch mtb wheels. Includes valve extractor and spare valve core.

Fixed Rear wheel. Campagnolo Record large flange track hub laced to a de-stickered Mavic Open 4CD (dark grey). No brake use so the rim is fresh. The hub runs nice and smooth. There is one spoke is very slightly dented near the hub. Includes locking.

On One Pompetamine V1 frame size Medium inc forks. Has had a couple of year's use and has been in the shed gathering dust. Includes FSA headset and On One seat clamp. There are a few small nicks and scrapes but mostly cable rub and some paint chips. No dents.

Sella Italia SLR Saddle. I am not sure which model but it says 160g on it and has Vanox rails, which I think makes it one of the more basic models but still quite light. Has some marking to the right rear from bike rubbing against the wall.

Selle San Marco Regal Saddle. I think this is a 2009 saddle and it has the leather which has a bit of grain pressed into it. Some rub to the left rear. See flickr pic for close up.

Time Atac Alium peddles. From about 2008 I think. They are a bit ratty looking as the alloy is quite soft and they scuff up easily but they have plenty of life left in them. I'll throw in some cleats too which are not too warn. These are fine for trying Atacs out but I'd recommend to get some new cleats for long term use.

Just back from the 2nd QOM of the day at Brixworth. It seemed to be a reasonable turn out considering the weather and it being mid week.

The riders looked to be suffering with the rain and muddy spray from the country lanes.

I was at the finish in Northampton and it was a great turnout. Good atmosphere all round and a lot of support. Loads of younger school kids having a great time. I'm looking forward to the highlights because I blinked and missed most of the riders as they shot past despite quite a strong headwind and steady incline on the finishing straight. Smiles all round afterwards from the riders too as they seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Hope to catch them again at Brixworth tomorrow for one of the QOMs as it's a hill I know well and one that takes me an absolute age to climb. It will be great to see it done properly!

You could have had my Pompetamine Steve. It's under a layer of dust in the shed.

That style of shoes always reminds me if the film Blue Collar in that it's what I imagine a Detroit factory worker to be wearing in the 70s.

Barkers do a few women's styles. Trickers do a few women's shoes as well but you'd need to visit the factory shop.

What are cigar roll type shoes? Moccasins?

I'd be worried about those string ties getting drawn into the spokes.

When things have settled, Steve, bring that mtb over here. There's a few xc rides round where I live that fill the time.

I may have to sell 'the' track bike due to lack of funds and lack of use. If any of the usual miscreants are interested then they should get in touch. Otherwise it may end up on the classifieds here or even worse, ebay.

Cinelli riders love those bargains.

Snobbish tactics by the shoemakers. A heal can last a matter of months on some shoes and it's impractical to be sending them back so often. I believe Trickers charge £120 for a rebuild. At those costs I can't see how it would be an issue for them to undo someone else's repair work.

I've tried on some of those Trickers loggers and they fitted true to size in the standard width. Stunning boots which feel less heavy than the brogues and visually appear more narrow in the toe.
