I have a 41t chainring and a 26t sprocket form bob jackson fixie. I actually ride 48t:16 to a climb then flip the wheel and switch the chainring out.
In all honesty.
- its fucking heavy
- Every part of the bike twists and flexs.
- 41:26 is a shit gear for western Norway mountains.
I do love doing the big local climbs fixed though. One day I may upgrade to some chinese carbon and get a smaller BCD chainset.

This was top of my list.
As I also have a pwoermeter and want direct drive with minimal features, and fluid resistance. So perfect then.
But then @skinny said it was shit.
Really pissed on my cornflakes :(

Shit expression. Not my words.
The example I read was lifting a table. You lift it from below. So sweet spot, i.e. Below FTP, is a better way of lifting FTP. But I tend to lift chairs from above. So YMMV.
Bullshit aside.
It works well without so much fatigue. Plus I run a lot over winter. So it's nice not to load the legs.
