Sometimes it's hard to differentiate between invention (printing press) and discovery (electricity) - it's hard to say whether the wheel was discovered or invented ? - But here are my top 10 greatest inventions (not whether I like 'em or not, but simply their impact on makind).
Without a doubt number 1 - God
2 - mathematics
3 - language
4 - commerce
5 - television
6 - gun powder
7 - nuclear fission
8 - the internet
9 - the computer
10- the pubsurely 2 & 7 are discoveries rather than inventions. [not going to enter into a discussion on 1]

pfffft light weight I prefer Chopin but http://www.thedrinkshop.com/products/nlpdetail.php?prodid=1521 this is only 80% but I have some at home which is 96% proof ;o))) I am the Devil .....
i) "96% proof" is bollocks. either you are talking proof or ABV (i.e. % of alcohol)
ii), if you are talking ABV, 96% alcohol is not on your shelf at home. 'pure' alcohol/spirit is a max of 95.6% ABV as this is alcohol+water in its azetropic state. -

re: stolmen
@Balki: i've been using this as a waredrobe and more recently as a bike rack - there are holes to secure with screws (as I initially did) but nowadays I don't screw into the ceiling. rubber pads either end and an extension bolt at the bottom to get the correct pressure. I have moved a few times and for the last few years have never had an issue without screwing it in.
also - rather than leather or foam to cover the hook, I just cut a section of old inner tube and used that to protect bikes.
and one last little part of advice - been using it as a bike rack for 6mths or so, but just have one hook per bike - centred on the top tube. no problem thus far...
however I think i have heard someone say that you shouldn't fully support your bike from the centre of the top tube - it not being the strongest section. any advice? -
if you are looking for Mulatu Atsatke - Sounds of the Universe have a few albums on CD or vinyl. or there are plenty of secondhand places around if you have a few days to spare diggin.
I have a similar problem to BlueQ - but my memory blank leaves me purchasing a big wad of albums, then getting home and realising the one I specifically made the trip to buy isn't amongst them.

btw - i went round a few of the mentioned stockists (bikefix, condor, velorution and an email to evans) last week looking for a green/tan barley, however all shops were out but very helpful and offered to order in. so best bet ATM is probably online order for a couple week delivery and best price - or ring other shops.
NB - they had other models and black barley, just not the green barley -
absolutely no idea on wheel building (hopefully will one day), but casting my mind back to school days tensile strength is measured in Pascals [Pa] - same as pressure (e.g. for pumping up tyres)
note - could be, and probably am, completely wrong
Hz - is a frequency measurement
