As greenbank said - large one is probably your cold water tank, feeding your hot water system.

Small one is probably the header/expansion tank for your central heating.

Heating water makes it expand a bit and the way this is handled in older setups is to leave the system open to the air so that when the water expands in your pipework/cylinder/radiators it can just push up against the atmosphere.

This probably means your hot water pressure is dictated by the height of the larger tank as the water is basically falling from that height down through your system and out of your taps.

More modern systems tend to be sealed with a closed expansion tank, allowing mains pressure to pressurise the system and fewer critters and bits of debris to get into the tanks.

The opaque water suggests that it is indeed central heating water, which tends to get pretty foul even when you mix corrosion inhibitor into it. It's a closed loop so unless you actively drain and flush it, it just slowly collects gunk as it eats away the insides of your radiators etc.

Great day out at Snettisham. Loads to see and a great vista over The Wash. Spoonbills, egrets, a kingfisher, peregrine, buzzards, oystercatchers, dunlin, linnets, at least 40 cormorants, lapwings, many geese, muntjack, and those were just the ones I could recognise. Huge murmurations as well.
When the tide is out you really need some stronger lenses than we had.

I wonder if increasing tobacco duties 10x would have a more significant effect on the number of people smoking. Maybe we should do both

Brought my moka pot on holiday only to discover the hob is induction. I ghetto'd it yesterday by putting it in a dry pan on the hob but that seemed super dodgy. Found a cafetiere in the back of one of the cupboards so all is not lost. CSB, etc...

Spent ages looking in the book to identify something in Titchwell Marsh that I couldn't figure out. Then caught a glimpse of a page near the back in the rarities section. Turns out it was a Black Winged Stilt. An escapee, apparently.

What would you choose for rim brake carbon clinchers for 105 11sp? Fulcrum wind 40C caught my eye. 17C rims still seem ok for my unfashionable 23-25mm tyres? 1.5kg bit heavy? Not looking to go tubeless. Give me another decade to catch up with the cool kids.

I did about 6 doors over 2-3 years with a heatgun. Not too bad, although it takes twice as long if you want it really neat and tidy. Avoid windy days unless you want a garden full of paint flakes.
