+1 on the 10.4, thought it'll still be slow as fuck mind.
10.3 actually would be acceptable, since 10.4 have some feature that would drive the poor slow mac out of it's mind.
+1 in retrospect 10.3 would be better, i noticed my mac slow up a bit when i went to 10.4 but it was pretty much out of use by then so wasn't too much of an issue.
maybe bump your RAM up a bit as it's pretty cheap to do so. Crucial are pretty good for it

i got a similar spec on my old imac and it runs 10.4 fine. when you do the install do a custom one and get rid of all the languages you're unlikely to need as that'll free up a fair amount of space, you should be able to do the same for printer drivers too. normally frees up quite a bit, sometimes up to a coupla gig

There is no "artistry" involved in printing a few block characters out on a PC, stenciling them and keeping within the lines. I really wasn't dissing you when I said any street shop (walk-in shops in other words) will be able to do an awesome job on it, that's what they do day in day out. Obviously check out the portfolios first and see the quality of the work.
Calm down, all I'm saying is that it's frustrating for artists to not actually use their ability to draw and do something custom which may have influenced his decision to turn it down. Luckily the GF is in a position to turn work like that down as she prefers to specialise in big custom pieces, no high horse at all. She has worked fucking hard to get where she is by drawing for hours and hours every day. You'll find a lot of tattooists do exactly the same and sometimes it can be frustrating to have this big nice portfolio that has taken YEARS to amass and then have someone flip through it and then ask for a Kanji.
Oh and one piece of advice, don't ever EVER get tattooed on the ribs. It fucking kills. :)
ha, got my first tattoo recently down the RHS of my ribcage, didn't hurt as much as i expected, although it was fairly intense over the bones. been told it's one of the most painful areas so it should be easy steet for the rest of the ones i want.....

Alex, living in northern quarter, ride an old yellow sun beater. skint so can't really throw money on a bike as i'd like, instead end up watching infuriating ebay auctions for stuff i want but can't afford and begging and borrowing bits from my mates, kinda learning as i go.
basically just enjoying the difference in riding a fixie after years of bmx, quite interested in giving a bit of racing a go.

Use the search utility on the forum. Search for "threadless BB", YST, "Raleigh BB" for info on non english/ISO threaded BB options.
BB width will depend on the cranks you are going to use. Most folks here use square taper. Also search for "transmission database" for some typical crank/BB/hub options.
great that's spot on, did do a search but not for those kind of terms, that'll help alot. cheers

That looks as though it will take an English thread BB (same as mine) as for the length there are a few things to take in to consideration hub width, where the chainring/crankarm sits on the taper.
TBH if you live in South run it down to Brixton Cycles and I'm sure they could assess the situation and supply you with the necessary components and the knowledge. Cavendish are equally helpful when it comes to sharing a bit of knowledge.
Manchester based so that's gonna be a bit of a mooch, will take it into GBH tho as the guys in there are really helpful. Thanks a lot for your help, kinda given me a better understanding of it at least. Cheers
brilliant, totally missed them on ebay!
they definitely 3/32? always thought 130bcd was generally 3/32 and 144bcd was generally 1/8 as it was track standard but was recently told that's not entirely true??
