Actually, what would be a reasonable Bose QC35 alternative ? He really would settle for over/on ear (just not IEMs) that work good for meetings. Basically work gave him IEMs and he hates them, and his AKG N60's broke (and they won't repair them twice). It's really annoying as I have a pair of QC35's here I'm not using, but I'm in California and he's in Yorkshire!
Maybe the Soundcore 20 ? .... hmmm I realize I'm kinda talking to myself here but they (Q20)'s look like a good stop gap till i can give him my QC35's later this year (I don't want to post them)

I am a bit meh with the next gen consoles. Have both Xbox and PS5, yet there's like fuck all games. I find myself playing all previous gen or the much better PC versions.
I don't think I've played a next gen specific title. I started Miles Morales but was pissed that my console didn't come with upgrade to old-gen Spiderman and you had to PAY to upgrade it ? Wtf.
That said Xbox Game Pass Ultimate is fucking killer, working my way through so many random things on there I never bought as I didn't think I'd like them (but got stuck in a stupid running part in Medium)
Also this has led me to, never buy brand new. I just saw the list of Metro Exodus update coming and damn (although PC was good to start with).
Guess it's back to Fortnite with some buddies (RTX looks great on it, but yeah I've shot at myself in reflections too many times)

Well I live in SF (and have done for last 7 years)... you can buy toothpaste for <2$ at CVS/Walgreens no problem (feel free to check their websites).
Groceries is all over the place, no different to shopping in the UK. I can buy cheap cuts of meat, and lots of veggies for very little or I can drop $100+ on Wagyu. Honestly, everything in SF is def. cheaper than London EXCEPT housing. Which will beggar you.

this is the problem. /cc @CYOA
Bose try to play it off as a Windows issue, but the reality is you can either have Stereo (Music) or Mono+Mic .... I gave up and use a wired set of headphones+mic instead. There's a discussion about BT profiles on Bose site.
also the headphones don't support AptX so forget low latency audio. I really would not recommend them for gaming at all

The real bit is now more and more apps in iOS14 are taking advantage of Apple allowing htem to use their OWN encrypted DNS. This bypasses everything which is a PITA (and to me a security risk).
NextDNS/Cloudflare/OpenDNS all offer a .mobileconfig and Apple at least made it so that if that file exists the apps HAVE to use it, they can't over ride that.

Also @sacredhart ... just cuz you don't pay doesn't mean you aren't useful. I'm not saying even selling data to other companies but in research the raw data is very useful.
The data is mined as "free"/consumers tend to get compromised quicker than corporate. Again, it's all anonymous (at least where I work it is) but it's very very useful to spot botnets/new viruses/etc... etc...

yeah, it's a little more subtle than the green/red ones...
ordered them from their NYC store... bought from there before. The only real issue I have is N&F sizing is all over the place, like a 36 is different on almost all my jeans so you really do need to read their tables (But yay for them giving the REAL sizes too!)

I posted this in the Pi thread, but just incase:
for those using pihole if your update "breaks" and complains iproute2 is missing
check /etc/apt/sources.list and make sure it's right... mine was zero'd somehow, and iproute2 is now in backports for Debian Buster.
If you want the real tech info, I filed my findings (and suggestions) here:

... guess my username ... :P -

for 2, you can also just use https://pimylifeup.com/raspberry-pi-openmediavault/ (see: https://www.openmediavault.org/ for the main software)
I run OpenMediaVault on an old PC and it works great. It can do raid like people have talked about, but I actually use UnionFS + SnapRAID to kinda do the same thing (but allow me to use drives separately if something fails)

In the end ordered the Anker Soundcore Life Q20's. Figure they will tide him over till I can give him the Bose QC35s
