Hey thanks to everyone that's helped me out. I ended up getting the 49 steamroller from Brixton cycles. I've had it for a week now and its fucking brilliant. Just getting used to riding fixed, slowly getting better. My legs feel like they're about to fall off every night.

hmm, I have never played before :P i had a knock-a-bout yesterday (not enough people to play a game) so I don't think I would exactly benificial to the team. will join if player is required though, otherwise I may pull together a newbie team

im down for a newbie team! never played before but ive always been interested! id be keen to get some game time before hand as well. or just learn how to hit the ball with a mallet without falling off.

i was rolling by herne hill on my way to sunday lunch and i saw a quite a few fixie riders... obviously. a few up brixton way, and even more right next to brockwell park. some gave a brief nod or a courteous smile, the others were just too cool for school.

once i get my riding skills on par with my numchuck and bowhunting skills, ima look forward to joining! hopefully ill get to meet some of ya.

I'm about 5'9 and even the S (dont ask me why they size their bikes this way) was much too big for me. The charge sizing is really strange.

I think I have short legs... but yeah most places allow you to take one for a spin.

Try a few different ones out unless youre settled on a plug.

thing to realise about the plugs if youre on the smaller side is that the frames are actually huge. I wasnt comfortable even on the small. so i opted for the 49 steamroller. now that's a bike!

yeh i tend to agree, the fug is well heavy and your limited to what you can actually lock it too. Quite often you have to put the bike further away just to find something suitable, which may result in components going missing instead.

I'd consider something different if I was looking again...

so what would you get then? if the fug is too small that it actually causes inconvenience, then would the ny3000 be a better choice?

I ride with normal flats, clip-on aren't an option since you can't get a converse with a clip-on in it, also after speeding down kennington's on very bumpy road occasionally getting my feet thrown off the pedals, a strap seemed like a good idea now.

toe clips maybe? nice steel cages with leather straps is what i just put on mine.

This is how I lock my bike if I want to be sure that it's there for a prolong period of time (just pretend the long metal stick is a lamp post or summat);

Sheldon Brown method is this, thought I didn't dare to try it as it might give the theft the wrong idea that I lock my bike up badly and try and attempt to removed it;

yes, the fug is better than the 3000, one; less levage room, two; not enough room for tools, three; small and strong is better than big and strong, remember to register your lock in their website in case you lost all the keys thought.

my idea combination? the Kryptonite Evolution Mini and Fahgettaboutit Mini, the Evolution Mini for locking bike in board daylight/under 1 hour, the Fah for dusk/over 1 hours.

or a combination, Evo Mini to lock front wheel, and Fah to lock frame and rear wheel to whatever thing that's sticking out of the ground.

plus, after you held one, you'll feel so much better that it'll be less likely to get stolen in board daylight when you're popping off to the shop.

so whats the consensus then? I just today bought an abus granit-plus level 10 today with a kryptonite braided cable. I made the mistake of buying before checking on here. Now i want to have it exchanged for the krypto d-lock. is the fug so much better than the 3000 that it merits waiting for the order over the web? and now i feel i shouldve gotten the albus round chain as as combo rather than the cable...
