Prices are stupid, but I'm sure they could be got for cheaper elsewhere...

The Mudlark is the place I went to last time, for the failed herf. It's on a really nice cobbled back street just off the river (in London Bridge). It's got a smallish outdoor space (plenty of room though), but can be completely covered by awnings if necessary - The George is completely open air, so if it's raining we're fucked.
I vote Mudlark, but am easy really. The George is a 5 minute walk away, anyway...

Good work, VV. Will be great to finally enjoy a smoke with you. I'll probably bring about 10 (a selection prepared for any eventuality + there may be the opportunity to swap something), but I may only smoke 1 or 2. I'm considering smoking something pretty big like a RA Gigantes, or a MC Sublime. I've had sinus trouble recently, so I'll have to test the water with something smaller first...

Seems my tuppeware box is at 65% so a little low, will need to get some beads or something. Any suggestions ? It's only a small amount, but I'll probably end up with a coolidor like Dales so might as well plan ahead :)
Depends on you preference, but 65% is perfect for me - In fact I spent a few months actively trying to get my coolidor to 65%.
With regard to beads, there's a fair amount of info on this thread already. I don't know how big your tuperware tub is, but Dale's got 3 fridges (which can each hold 28 bottles of wine and aren't much smaller than normal kitchen fridges) full of cigars. To keep the humidity level constant in all 3 of them Dale will be using at least 3 pounds of 'Heartfelt Humidification beads'. 1 pound of beads takes up quite a lot of room, and could probably fill half your tuperware tub (again depending on the size of the tub). I would suggest getting one of the below, until you have your Cooler/Coolidor.

If you do want beads, go to this website, but be wary of shipping costs and VAT.

The George is the one that was mentioned before, right? I haven't been there but if somebody knows it that's good.
Thameside isn't anything special but it could suit our needs quite well. Rake has great beers but are severely pricey and the smoking area is non-existent. I wouldn't recommend that one.
I think the George is the one just round the corner from the Anchor (where we all originally met last summer) - I was the only one who turned up to the "herf" that was supposed to take place at the George (not sure you can call it a herf if you're on you own...). It looked OK - had plenty of covered outdoor space, I'd be up for giving it a go.
Yay my humidity temp gauge arrived from the US. Ordered a Caliber III one, seemed pretty recommended. 19.99 usd inc shipping, a fair amount cheaper than available here.
Looks decent - very similar to the Xigar ones.

I only bought Robustos from him, I don't know that he wants to sell any more of his cigars, but I'll ask him...
We should hook up this week, Dale. I still can't really smoke - I keep having the odd cigar which then fucks my sinuses up even more... I'm going to have to bite the bullet and go to the doctors, I think.
If you're around, we should meet 1 day after work. Let me know when's good for you.

My mate has returned from Cuba. He ended up going out on his own, as his travelling companion had to pull out at the last minute. Being on his own, my friend told me that he met loads of the locals and had an amazing time. One of the people he met worked in the Partagas factory, and was selling cigars on the side - my friend bought a fair few boxes, which I have just had a route through. It seems that the cigars (Cohiba Esplendidos and Robustos, Monte N. 4s, Partagas SD4s etc.) are all in pretty good condition, and look like the real deal. Unfortunately, the cigar bands are definitely fakes, and so are the ribbons that hold them together inside the boxes. I bought a box of Cohiba Robustos from him, and have just smoked one - it was pretty damn good, and I'm definitely glad with the purchase! The guy he bought them from had given my mate all the official stickers to add to the boxes so they could get past customs - He had completely forgotten to stick them on though, it was very lucky that he didn't get searched!
I've got some more cigars coming in the next week or so (cheers Dale), and I'm feeling fairly broke - I'm thinking of selling a few of the Robustos if anyone's interested?? I'm probably only going to sell 5 or so... Let me know if you're interested.
I'm also provisionally in for the 28th.

My mate's in Cuba now - he keeps texting me about what cigars he should buy. He seems to be saying that a 12 box of Trinidad Short Robustos are being sold for under $170 dollars - which is a respectable price. I definitely can't afford that at the moment, but I've told him to buy them for himself if he can afford it. He's also saying that he can get 25 Cohibas (he didn't say which - he doesn't know a lot about cigars) for £50ish "from the back door of the factory" which sounds a bit dodgy, but I'm still tempted to buy some...
Size?
