Gabes. Does your axle fit a specialized rear tri spoke? If so where did you get it from? £12 sounds pretty reasonable. Thanks
Brucy. Your knowledge sounds like the kind of thing I'm looking for. I guess the bloke I spoke to at Hed might have forgoten to mention that it was a metric* fine*..? He swore that all hed/specialized axles are m10 but I guess he might not have mentioned it needs to be fine. Do you think this is likely? Cheers brucy.

Can anyone tell me what type of thread a rear Hed3 / Specialized tri spoke axle is?
(This is not a quiz. It is a serious matter). My brain has had too much pain trying to find out. It's not metric and not imperial. The thread seems finer than most. Is there any wise old men with answers in this internet?

I recently bought a specialized tri spoke. It was a rear, but I wanted to ride it as a front.
I thought I'd be able to change the spacers and use nuts instead of a skewer to fit it to my forks. Annoyingly the axle thread, I was told, is imperial, so finding nuts to fit was hard work, but I found some. When I went to put the wheel in the axle didn't quite fit into the dropouts(!) - so I persuaded it to go in.. with a hammer.
I am not really happy with having to use a hammer to take my front wheel off and on. :(
So, I recently took appart the hub/bearings/axle on my old front wheel as it had, what looked like, the same size bearings. I was hoping I could then use this old axle.
I was wrong, the bearings are a different size and the axle has a different width to fit to the inner bearing case. !!I need either a front axle that will fit the bearings that are the tri spoke, OR a new set of bearings that will fit the tri spoke and a standard front axle. Can anyone suggest what would be easiest?
So, the question I need answered is:
**What different sizes are available for sealed bearings (for hubs)? **
...and where can I get a matching axle(s)?

Hello to everyone.
I have been riding my fixed wheel conversion for about 4 months now. I've recently slipped a tri spoke on the front so I can get more hipster points, but until I sell my used celebrity tampon collection on ebay I will have to make do with this frame. Private message me if you're interested.

Hello. My rear tri spoke has now made it self a new home on the front of my bike. I am stoked it fitted. It has been a bit of a bodge job: Instead of getting a conversion kit or new axle I just replaced the spacers and used nuts on the outside to hold it on to the forks. The axle only just squeezed into the fork dropouts but it has worked. It's riding really nice.
