I would like to get gran compe but my wallet is saying no.
What do you people think about the Zenith track hubs on Freshtripe.co.uk, a reasonable purchase?

Dogballs, if the spokes you have will fit with these Zenith hubs and the deep V can I buy them form you?

Cheers. Well I haven't bought any hubs yet, but I have a 650c deep V sat here in front of me in need of building.
I spoke to a bloke in a local bike shop and he mentioned that high flange hubs with a deep V would strain the nipples. He suggested a low/medium flange hub.
Any suggestions as to a nice good value black hub for it? -

Thanks for the replys everyone. I've had a day to calm down and things are looking up. I have managed to unscrew the BB (with pliers) and remove the cranks from the frame. The frame is getting painted this week (ral6034 if anyone cares) so when it's done I will then use the same plier technique to put the BB and cranks back on. A bodge but it's better than throwing the cranks away.
@P!MP - DHC, they're really friendly in there, and do damn good deals. Last time I was in there I got Randonneurs for a tenner each. DHC = good guys.

I would just like to add. What the fuck is up with Sugino cranks? I thought they weren't supposed to be cheap shit but these have lasted two weeks. I am pretty pissed off about this. I spent £75 on these only to have ridden them for a couple of weeks. WHAT THE FAAAAACK!?
Has anyone had this happen to their Sugino cranks?

I'm living in Southampton at the moment but might well be worth the journey to BikeFix. Thanks for your knowledge BringMeMyFix.
I've been stressed out of my mind today as a result of playing with bikes, so it's kind of comforting getting some answers on here. Cheers.

Today has been pretty stressful. Firstly a pesky headset and now I have threaded by two week old Sugino cranks.
I've threaded a set of RPM cranks before so I took extra care trying to remove my Sugino crank from a frame I want to get painted. No brute force, just small turns with what I thought were was enough power. Then, bollocks. Threaded.
Is there any way of rethreading cranks? It seems a waste to say goodnite to these cranks. It's pretty depressing ruining new parts for a build.

An inch is about 25.4 and the inside diameter of my headtube is about 26.8 : 1.4mm space for the standard headest to fit in.
All the 1" headsets I have have cups that are too big to fit in the 1.4mm space.
The headset on the frame and forks (that it came with) seazes up and prevents movement when tightened. Having looked at it, it does look like it should fit/work, but it doesn't. I've heavily greased the bearings but still nothing! Argghhhhhhhhh
This kind of problem is mentally painful.

I have an integrated headset on a lo pro frame I bought this week. The headset on it is 1" but it seems to be too big! The bearings/bearing cages look as though they're about 4/5mm too big. Any suggestions what size it could be?
The headtube is approximately 26.8mm internal diameter and the stearer is standard 1".
This is doing my head in.

Thanks for the heads up on cyclebasket.com. The front hubs are cheaper then that, £18.
Am I right in thinking 255 for 3x is correct? If so, Dogballs can I buy some from you?
