Dérailleurs are Veloce and from 1993 or '94 (the cable adjuster on the rear mech isn't original).
The Ergos are more difficult to pin down: all '92 levers had smooth fronts and from '95 they carried the groupset name, so these are '93 or '94.
'93 & '94 Veloce had black shift levers, as did '94 Athena. '94 Record had "carbon" written on the front of the body between the hood and lever.
In other words these could be '94 Chorus, '93 Athena or '93 Chorus/Record (which were the same model). I am fairly sure (but not certain) that the '93 hoods carried "Campagnolo" in script, whereas in '94 it was the familiar winged shield.
8 speed Ergo shifters are becoming scarce and sought after: £50 for these alone is a pretty good deal. Rear mech is nothing special: £15/£20. Front mech is bit crap: £10.
Fantastic info Mr.Suffolk, many thanks.

Hi Marxist,
No dents or dings and the rust is just surface rust. I will sand some away from the bigger patch near the bb and post a pic tomorrow.
Think I tried to put a 7 speed hub in and the chain clashed with the dropout on the smallest sprocket. Not sure re BB length. I'm don't know my stuff enough to be able to give any definitive answers though!

CHRIS PAULSON ROAD FRAME c1980 Reynolds 531SL
Seat Tube (ctt): 56cm (22in)
Top Tube (ctc): 55cm (21.5in)
Rear dropout width: 126mm
Wheel size: Sprints/700C (brake drop 46mm)
Frame tubing: Reynolds 531 double butted
Seatpost size: 27.2mm
Chris Paulson Cycles shop is in Rochdale - this frame is special enough to have been built in-house. Its built from the very light Reynolds 531SL tubing and this together with its other features dates to about 1978-80. The paint is a bit shabby with some marks - these I think can be improved with careful cleaning. With vertical droputs it is not suitable for fixed or singlespeed conversion unless a magic gear is found. £70. BB not included.
