Just got some deep Vs and recently got caught in a proper downpour, got home, dried the bike off, then pushing the bike i could hear running water. Basically the area inside the V had filled with water. I looked on my other bike that has shimano wheels and they have drilled it to let the water out. What i want to know is; has anyone seen the section of a deep V and can you tell me how deep from the tyre side of the rim should i drill? Both front and rear are machined (not that that changes anything). If I dont drill it and just let it dry over time, would that cause problems with the aluminium rim and steel spokes? Thanks for any info.

Same reason people are specific about rim colours and bar tape colours, it would just look nice and a modern clear bottle sticks out like the proverbial. Its not like Im unable to drink out of the others, ive got a clear bottle on at the mo. Just thought it would be an easy find to get one that looks better, how wrong i was.

I got a wheel built with a normal hub, like number 2 option really, and had it spaced out with some old bearing races, it was a cheap option as it only cost the amount of a wheel lace up. looks a bit wierd with the bearing races, just means you can get good wheel alignment without buyin a specific hub. Don't know if loads of people do this, but it seems to work ok. Then i just put a bmx freewheel on it.

I do a bit of live band photography, and the canon's i have used have been great, currently EOS20D, close up stuff kind of negate's need for any image stabilizing, unless you'r quite shaky. Good thing about going canon as loads of cheap second hand lenses. I use a 50mm lense with massive aperture/f stop for doing dark stuff without a flash (most gigs wont allow flash) and get really sexy arty stuff without trying. You should try lookin at some recondition sites, you can pick up older pro-level stuff at good prices. The eos 300 is really good if your blowing things up really big cos it has a full size sensor, so you get less distortion on the edges of pics, even in comparison to cameras with larger pixel rating. Only reason i go for Canon is cheaper second hand stuff is available cos of the massive amount of it.

http://www.cycles-for-heroes.com/2008/pdf/Specials.pdfHaven't the polis committed a bit of a boo boo by giving you his details? Not sure if I know all the ins and outs, but thats a data protection issue. Not that that helps you. What might make you feel better;
As far as i knew the section on a deep V is like an A shape, so the water isnt under the tyre. Please correct me if im wrong. Im only worried bout corrosion.
