How the hell does this work? I presume he's got slick tyres and super low gearing and he weighs about 2.5 stone, but still, its crazy. How does he do it when he's not pedalling too.
BLOW MA WHISTLE BABY!

Alex, these are so low profile, you could run both and run chainless. Who needs chains anyway, so last week. There on special offer too http://www.discountbicycles.co.uk/biz/product.php?xProd=3555&xSec=4137&jssCart=0d00bd712dcf06b2e7419b59ea8d4616

The nike add blatantly isn't aimed at cyclists, its just hyping nike. You can't even buy SB's anywhere but skate shops + guy on left has weiger's on and they came out 2 years ago (i got 2 pairs - hehe). I got an sb collection and you'd have to be nuts to ride in any of them. The Sb range is aimed at sneaker heads, but also to get people who aren't interested in trainers to say ' hey those nikes are cool i'm off to size to buy some nikes'.
I don't really have a point here, other than i love nike sb and jordans. haha. you should all ride spd anyway...

Profile cranks are awesome. I've had/got two pairs and no problems, save for the pair I used when riding fixed and that was due to the chainring bolt not being designed for fixed use.
I've had 3 sets and never had to bodge any of em!
i still hate the things, they are pretty but I dont rate them. Mean't to be awful for warranty aswell

its all about clipless, Shimano 540's are the bomb, they last for ever. Using Nike Kato's with them which ain't exactly pimpin' but I can walk round uni nice n comfy in them.

YOU miss the point.
unfortunately their is an extreme bias on the forum and people have resulted to insults and intimidation in order to defend that.
Why then would I want to go on a ride with such guys?
Then why bother talking to such guys?
Also, you keep talking about pedal stroke upsetting the grip - if you ride clipped in or straps then you don't really take a stroke, thats one reason people ride fixed, you apply power continuously through rotating.
Power through the wheel also provides grip, thats why you have to apply constant power in a velodrome to avoid slipping down the bank.

I've come to fixed from bmx and mountain bikes, moving to London is not the best choice for my DH or XC bike, DH bike has now been sold to a lovely fellow in Glasgow. boo hoo,
Crashes that knocked me out so far
1) Half of berm was missing on Les Gets 2 track in france - was there the previous run - similar thing could easily happen with potholes or anything in the road
2) Dead sailor on huge step down - not gonna happen on road bike, but hey
3) caught rear wheel on coping on bmx upon re-entry from space into quarter pipe, no helmet - serious ouch
4) catching pedal on copin dropping in - 10ft to face plant, broken fingers
Anyway, all these are really retarded mistakes, that are gonna happen to anybody at some point. I honestly believe a helmet saved my life on 2 of these occasions. Wear one.

Profile cranks are shit, there tolerances are fucking bollcocks, you have to bodge every set. They can't make shims a consistent size nevermind amke a c/ring round. Take gyro's off, nobody uses them anymore. other than that this site is really useful....

This thread made me join the forum, wish I could of been in on this.
Anyway what happens say if 2 or 3 skid stops aboard the maiden voyage the rear wheels drops to pieces, whos gonna fix it?- need to put the whole thing through a week + this should definately be documented, i want smiles all round because unipack quotes ''the novice rider will enjoy it: the courier riders love it.''
how the fuck do you paste things using html?
