Really shit news to see on the homepage. Hayley's bike build thread was always such an interesting read. Witty, self-deprecating and with lots of humour. She seemed to embody the main thing with bikes - having fun. The forum will be a poorer place without her updates. Thoughts are with her loved ones.

My only knowledge of Gevril is those "homage" Newman Daytonas that they did in the 80's/90's that got a bit of shine through Hodinkee et al so I don't know what the company is like these days apart from the Invicta-esque prising structure but Debenhams have 90% off some of the models in Black Friday that seem to have great specs for the discount price

As someone with no real knowledge of bike fit past "can I get my short legs over it comfortably" rather than "its way too long" its more " oh I'm not used to this kind of racer-esque stretch and bent back" kinda thing. I have a set of the On One forks already which would fit. My first cursory glance at bars was at something like Ritchey Keyotes or a BLB Sunday Bar.
Truth be told, I could do with getting rid of a a bike or two to get some space back, both mentally and in my garage. But I do love the look of the frame and the utilitarian nature nature of them.

This is my Inbred Slot Dropout. Always wanted one, swapped parts from an mtb I had to this frame wondering whether I should have waited for a small to come along. It's now for sale (with a couple of bits changed) but seeing some of the builds on here, not sure whether this should replace my town bike (90's GT Tequesta) with a set of rigid forks thrown on it.
I'm ok with the standover on this but its always felt a bit long. Will I make this more comfortable/usable with a swept back bar or am I just kidding myself and do I actually need a smaller bike?

Just been through a long update of this as somehow managed to miss it for the last year. Outstanding work. Wasn't sure about the outward opening front door when I saw the first picture but with the front all done it looks ace. Proper inspirational build.
Hopefully you get something to replace the DS in due course. My dad sold his ID a little while back. It was the longest we've had a car in the family at 16ish years and its been a big miss.

Good write up and great effort @Nef
Every year I say I'm going to try and do a century and every year the chance comes and goes. Going to try harder this year. -
@kjlem apparently so although I still prefer equipping a bike with traditional tubes to keep it in the corner of my garage
@chickenbones would rather let the bike go as is but if that changes I'll let you know.

Venge looks great. Glad the second ride had the desired effect. I could also do with remembering that instead of messing around changing parts and looking for that next dopamine hit, I should just get out and ride and get my legs spinning so thanks for the reminder.
