Does anyone have any experience with an Olympus 35 SP? Mine is scratching my film quite badly and I don't know where the problem is. I think the scratches are on the back of the film, the glossy side, that would face out the back of the camera.
I took it to a camera repair shop and he couldn't see any problems. I thought it might be the metal roller to the left of the pressure plate but I have put some cloth tape on it and it didn't make a difference.
I have just been cloning out the marks with photoshop but it is getting really tedious and I'm reluctant to put any decent film through it now.
Also, it doesn't appear to affect the very last frame of the film, which would mean its something happening near the take up spool?
Below is an example of the scratches (not even too bad in this pic, they're usually worse) and shots of the camera...

That thing looks amazing! Look forward to seeing the results.
I'm enjoying my £5 Mju II, this is my favourite of the roll... The rest of the images are here.

Never shot Kentford film, maybe the 100 ISO stuff isn't too forgiving regarding exposure?
Yeah could be that, I usually use it to test new cameras as its cheap. It worked well with my AE-1 though.
Am I right in thinking the OM20 has a manual dial to change the exposure by + 2 stops allowing you to expose for the highlights with the centre weighted meter?
It does have that dial yeah. I used it a couple of times but I'm not sure if it makes any difference if its displaying the same shutter speed on the meter. Unless it has more increments of hidden shutter speed?

Olympus OM20 - Cheap 35mm lens - Kentmere 100, self dev, self scan. Tried experimenting with a longer dev time to increase contrast but I don't think it worked too well as this camera seems to enjoy over-exposing a bit.
Shot so much black and white recently with mostly not-that-exciting results, got some Portra 160 to get through next.

Home scan yes. I agree on the blue tint, I kinda like it on the top one but it does seem to be on nearly all the images. This is down to the program I scan with. I'm currently just using the scan straight out of Vuescan, usually pulling back on the blue slider slightly.
A better workflow is to scan it raw and run it through ColourPerfect which gives pretty awesome results, no blue tint. I only have the trial version at the minute which adds a grid to the image. When I have the cash I might end up just paying for it.
How far can you ride?
