Just went to the alps by train, eurostar and tgv, over christmas, traveling out boxing day. St-pancras > paris > bourg saint maurice approx £90 per person per direction. Tickets booked 90 days in advance. I'm fairly sure you could do the train bits without need of a bag so you could then cycle your transfer in paris rather than fight the metro system. Second class was pretty nice.

miro_o - look at on-one. Although brant seems to be fixated with 29" and is possibly letting the 26" side of stock slip.
alex - looks quite damn nice, the price sounds good. But I'm not in the market so it's irrelevant. And a minor detail , looks like an integrated headset so that would probably stop me buying it, thats not in your power to change though.

Bit late to the game on this news, been working for a change.
Ditto the well wishing and what not mr object.
Hey where has 'that shit is fucked up' gone.Tommy 'Practice make perfect', i laughed.
Looks like i'm out this weekend too, the cold appears to be going nowhere and i've gone and got sucked into flat hunting so I have a day of viewing crappy flats to look forward to instead. Woo.

Still not decided on theo or archie, still need to get my hands on one to see which i prefer. Don't know if I actually made it on the list, you said something about needing a new notebook for the list at the time. If I did object will be able to match forum name to real name for you.

Hey cheers, for the advice. Well I'll have to see how it'll go when I get them (and a bike) :)
How do you find them in term of woarm, confort, dryness, etc....?Hey sorry I've not bothered to reply until now, i'm lazy.
They have been pretty good. I can feel the wind proof trigger finger cover bit working. They aren't a full on winter glove so this recent freezing snap has seen me with sore cold fingers even when combined with a silk liner glove. And I think they are fine for shower proof but not torrential downpore.
I wore an old pair of snowboarding gloves this morning because my hands hurt so much last night. Perhaps I should check weather reports before I set off, I was fucking roasting when I got to work.

8:84?
Late (08:54)
TheBrick
hillbilly (its the fucking weekend!!)With that sentiment hb. 8:84 = 9:24 even better.
But I can't get out of the house before 9 when I'm supposed to be at work by then.
Not that I think i'm even likely for this week.If her indoors sticks to cycling to work this weekend, I might continue on after dropping her off, to try a few hours at epping.

What's this 6 speed hope rear hub? Have they done that so you get a dishless wheel or something. Seems like a good idea I'd sacrifice some gears for increased wheel strength.
It was explained to me that MTB trials rules required a geared mountain bike, otherwise i'm sure they'd all be fixed, and a six gear minimum was set, probably that 18 gears was the norm.
This annoyed me a little because i'd quite like hope to make an ss hub with their lovely freehub tech but with only space for 1 cog, i'd settle for space to cram in 3 if you weren't using spacers to get best alignment of your 1 cog. -

Now it's you throwing spanners.
Not sure how that would work out. Saturday is my free day as her indoors is at work, Sunday is our day off together, I'd need a day pass from her for Sunday.
Is anyone else planning on riding this weekend? What are your votes?
