So is that a or b ?
This is just me playing around with no research whatsoever. I'm curious as to the difference between them, .kml is on the recognied attachment list. It just happened that google maps gave me a .kml, I guess you need earth for .kmz and I don't have that, just seeing how far I can get with free publically available assets.
Yes earth is free, but requires an install, so would require me to be at home with my own computer. Plus I think earth for linux runs in some kind of emulation or virtualisation (or was that picassa, haven't researched proper like) and I aren't keen on that. And :) why take up disk space with a novelty app if i can get away doing it all wank2.0.

Cool. Thanks for the update scrapper. And much appreciate you stepping in and sorting out the purchase.
Good that Jos has the bike, there has been no post on this thread from him since his initial suggestion, which we all jumped on, so didn't know if it had all fizzled out because he didn't actually mean it. -

Used to have spd's on my mtb many years back. I blamed them for starting to give me knee pain/weekness.
Currently run clips 'n' straps. I would like to try clipless again with some eggbeaters, they have more float I think, but i'm too misely.I'm not winning any style points with my plastic mtb clips (held to my pedals with zip ties and plastic packing webbing) with nylon straps :)

Anyhow . . . I think the problem is that the police have not kept up with technology (for want of a better word) in the respect that a stolen bike is still viewed like a stolen wheelbarrow or shovel - not the crime of the century - they don't seem to be aware that in recent years it is becoming common for some bikes to be worth a fair bit of money.
The police might not be too aware of this but the thieves are.
And so the theft has got out of hand because of lack of deterant, it would probably take way too many resources to bring back in line now.
But we shouldn't give up, we should be working to get them to take action, are they not public servants?
eek. Thank god for you understanding RE. They annoy me so much because they are so damn confusing.
