Saw Zyggurat last week, and they were fantastic. Modular synth, drums, trumpet (with effects), played for an hour straight without stopping in an electric Miles/Krautrock kinda style. Along with the also great un.procedure, Pan Pan venue (and it's Jazz Jam) and Blow Water cafe it's nice that Brum is getting a little scene going.

Probably not audiophile, but I'm very much enjoying the sound from my system at the moment. The Mordaunt-Short's are a recent addition and love the sound from these speakers.

Collectors recommendation, Ira Sullivan - Horizons. Picked it up from one of my locals as it was £8, liked the cover, and 60s Atlantic Jazz Mono. Surprisingly it's fantastic; reminds me a lot of Coltrane's pre Love Supreme Impulse records.

I saw un.procedure last weekend and was very impressed. Cassie Kinohsi of off (early) Kokoroko and seed. on sax in a trio with synth and drums. Kinda like a more Kraftwerk Comet Is Coming at times.

I replaced my twenty-year-old SR-60 (cable failed, will look at replacing the cable one day) with a pair of SR-80x and like them. For portable audio (Sony Minidisc) I also use the Sony EX15LP/AP. You can get them for under a tenner, super portable wired earbuds that sound way better than they have the right to for the price.

Prefer the Minidisc/EX15 combo to iPhone/AirPods Pro for sound, the latter wins out for convenience though.

I had similar with a VM95ML on a Rega Planar 2, including infuriating bits of material that seemed to have wrapped themselves around the diamond shank. I just ended up obsessing about how clean the stylus was, using a brush, magic eraser and AT tacky goo whilst inspecting the stylus under a loupe. I wonder if the more advanced diamond shapes are prone to collecting gunk?

Currently using spherical and bonded elliptical styluses on a Garrard SP25, and having a far more relaxed experience.
