well i went to a concert to see some friends, and when i left my apartment i dropped my keys inside and was locked out, so i had to use my two combo locks, but they were both either cut or picked. i was inside for about 40 minutes too. i didn't realize there was a lot attendant or i woulda locked it next to his booth. and yeah the discount i get is an Employee Purchase from Raleigh, which is quite generous, especially since theyre trying to get more people on the bikes to remake their brand. if this bike ride as well as the one way does, and they can get their higher end bikes up there, they'll be well on their way i think.
i let you know how it rides when i get it in two weeks.
right now i'm on a redline monocog 29er. it's a weird feelign after riding nthing but fixed (for any sort of distance) for years. -
my 62 Surly Steamroller was nicked a few weeks ago. turns out insurance won't cover me, because, while i live at my brothers house, i'm not covered. i didn't realize i needed renters insurance there. its all sorts of fucked... the things insurance does to not pay out.
anyway, i do have the s-works langster in the works, but i have to piece it all together now and a lot of my nicer parts were on the surly. so i need something cheap to get around on so i found i can EP a rush hour from Raleigh for very very very cheap.
it looks pretty rad, and i think i will swap out the red bits for chrome and get sme decent wheels (i just need rims i have some vintage campy pista hubs already). i like it because it's very classic and simple. -
So you COULD have avoided him but you chose to crash into him instead to teach him a lesson?
So next time a car has the chance to stop but decides to crash straight into one of us instead, will that be alright?
That kind of behaviour is fucked up IMO...accept that there are idiots out there on the roads...but don't become one yourself!

people need to learn to share the road properly. if this fellow followed the rules/ laws then the collision would have been avoided. your flawed logic of stating that next time a car hits one of you when you're following the law being ok is fucked up.
i would have hit it with a lock.

unfortunately i can't test ride it. it's just the frame set from our specialized rep. it's an 08 and it just happens to be my size and the paint is a little off so i'm getting a disgusting deal on it.
the other shoppe carries s works but we never get in sworks langsters because there are no close tracks.the worst case i guess is buy it and if i hate it sell it on ebay and i could prolly make a buck or two.

so i got a great deal on a s-works langster. has anyone ridden one of these on the street? i've never ridden an aluminum trackbike on the road.
or would i be better off just sticking with steel?i rode the sworks langster at a track a few times (though it was a little small) and i loved it there.
any suggestions?

iv had my eye on a bike for 2 years now (talked to some people and they think its been there longer)... its pretty rusty now few bits have been nicked..
I left a note on it about 6 months ago now, but I got nothing back.
I think I might take it next week. Does anybody have a good to go through 2cms of cable?
spoke cutters work really quickly. its what i use in shop when we lose a key/customer locks a bike to their rack and lost the key. -

hey, what kind of bikes would you like in the pictures? I have some good shots of bmx and mtb, all good quality and resolution but nothing like fixed-hip-urban...
I used to publish on a few mtb and bmx mags quite a lotoh, and I'm in need of some new wheels... ;-o
any pictures really work. we're trying to keep it diverse. and as much as i'd be willing to try to hook you up with new wheels shipping would be a little ouch. the best i could really do on something that expensive would be item cost and like half shipping (if it would even be worth it. i have to look into the cost of shipping.)

Why not set them up as an exhibition / gallery style.
You get them hung on your wall and they (or prints of them) are available for sale with the proceeds going to the photographer?
I am sure you would much more likely to get a few willing participants that way
if we had actual wall space where the pictures could be viewed as such art then this MIGHT work. but we don't really. They're mostly behind counters and bikes and higher on walls.

more or less yes.
we're not some big high end shop. we're rider owned. the owner bought it as a former employee, and the owner before him did the same.
we're a good shop. we have a great reputation of helping out and going out of our way for our customers. we have some of the highest repeat buisness i know of.
but i know what yer saying. but like i said i have no budget. i'm lucky i got what i did. i don't really know what i can do. but i know a lot of photographers would just like to have some of their work displayed. i mean i'm usuing my photography.

We're remodeling the shop here and I was assigned the great job of art direction. ie picking out posters and what not. it's not so bad. I'm trying to get away from logo merch and promo shit from the companies we carry and do a classier look.I got a bunch of pre ww2 tour de France posters and a few retro track posters. this basically ate up my budget pretty quick. (which was tiny to begin with) I'm going out and shooting some people from out shops race team doing some mountain biking. But i'm really trying to find some decent artistic bike photos.
I unno if anyone has some hi res photos that they took and would mind sharing them that would rule pretty hard. I know exactly what i'm looking for, bt i don't really know how to describe it. i guess its when i see it i will know.
thanks.

i said a similiar situation, the similarity being that i couldn't stop in time. a car was pulling out of a restaurant and wasn't paying attention to anything other than trying to pull out in the street. i guess i'm not familiar with the law in the uk, but the law in most states is "have a brake that allows you to skid on dry level pavement" which means i'm quite legal.
-

should have had a brake. Even if u dont use it ever just having it there is worth it for these situations. oh wait nevermind forgot brakes are not cool.
i never get this obsession with putting brakes on track bikes...
also i doubt brakes would have stooped. the second time i got hit it was in a similar incident, on a road bike and the brakes didnt much help. and by much i mean at all.
nah, i live upstate. i hate NYC with passion.
