i went to philly this past weekend to see some friends and this one bird that i kinda dig. she rides SS and we decided to go for a ride and i taught her some basic maintenance and gave her some of my old tools and stuff. she relly wanted to learn how to ride fixed and i was like its easy, so i loaned her one of my (hand built) wheels.
we were riing around the lot for a while and down the street and she loved it. we were going to her house so i had to drive because i couldn't leave my car, so i'm driving really slow and shes riding the bike with the fixie wheel still on it. shes doing wella nd shes all smiles.
then i look in my rear veiw and see her lose control on a decline (the ratio was pretty low but she did have front and read brakes) and her fot slipped off the peddle and tore off her shoe and she flew over the bike pretty hard and tore up her elbow, her knee her hip and her boob as well as peeled off a finger nail.
i felt so bad and she yelled at me for allowing her (i guess?) to ride the bike that soon.
needless tosay this bird and i did not advance to make out stage.
i think bikes will not get me girls. i need a new schtick.

(so) what projects is everyone working on? anything fun?
I've recently salvaged 3 old bikes for some conversions. each very shitty, but I figure i can give them some love, and get some kids who can't afford anything that grand a decent riding SS/fixie.
The first is and old Ross touring bike. The geometry is really forgiving and the weight isn't bad. It's in for paint right now, but i forgot to snap a before picture.
The second is a ladies scwhinn. it was heavy as fuck, but dropping teh old steel wheels and derailleurs really lightened it up quite a bit. it's been being ridden for a while now, though technically its still in progress. It's also going to paint this week.
the final one is kind of an epic piece for me. it's a yellow piece of shit scwhin. it weighs 23 lbs with out wheels. seriously a piece of shit. i was made fun of at work for even touching it. i'm taking my time with it, and really trying to make this something nice. though it will always be a shoddy frame, at least it will ride nice and look hot. spending way more money and time on it than it's worth, but it's all about showing up the guys at work.
i will post some before and afters of what i got this week sometime.
(also any ideas to really get a shitty bike looking trick would be apreciated. i tend to make a lot of them look the same.)

too bad the tahos looks like shit. i'm still looking for a decent looking walkable pair of shoes myself. i have a pair of Diadoras and a pair of s-work and i can't walk for shit in either one of them. i made the mistake of wearing the Diadoras to school once and left my trainers in my other bag.
I've had bad luck in general with shimano shoes though. they don't sem to last and they fit like ass.

take some close ups if the back axle and i can whip up some designs. this is too sweet not to be a trike. should be easy enough, just use an old shitty girls bike frame
