We get namechecked in the latest CTC mag. They've got an article on fixed bikes in London and it categorises the different types of riders.
Here's our crew:
Hipsters
Many hipsters are students or in creative jobs like graphic design. They are to be found in the uber-fashionable Shoreditch area of East London, dressed in skinny jeans, with cut-down handlebars to match and a pair of candy-coloured deep-profile Velocity rims, mounted on fancy hubs. They even have their own fixed-wheel cycling forum: www.londonfgss.com
Riding: bicycle polo, tricks competitions
Where to get the kit: Brick Lane Bikes
Pretty accurate? There's also one bloke in the article who says: "[I bought my fixie because] it goes with my Apple and Muji products" which made me laugh :-)

I reckon it's a bit out of order for the Mail On Sunday to have revealed Banksy's identity
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7504132.stm
Part of the value of his art clearly derives from his guerilla-like anonymity
Now that they have unmasked him as a public schoolboy it's almost certainly gonna have an impact on the worth of his art
I'd guess that they take exception to the whole grafitti thing preferring instead watercolours of lovely countryside scenes?

I have a singlespeed with a flip flop hub and to be honest I prefer to ride it on the freewheel as I like being able to coast along
However when I find myself around fixed riders I sometimes continue pedalling when I don't need to as if to pretend that I am riding fixed
I guess it's down to some sort of feeling of shame... Is that wrong?

Yesterday on my commute I saw someone wearing a Rapha cap and those Rapha knickerbockers, and riding - perhaps inevitably - a slightly boutique fixie.
It reminded me of another Rapheur (if that's the correct term) I had seen a few weeks previously who was wearing full kit of Rapha leggings, a Rapha jacket, and Rapha cap.
Both outfits were very striking, and I found that odd given Rapha's brand is intended to be understated and subtle.
Is Rapha still cool? Or is it slowly being Burberrified?
wow, it's like a scene from streethawk
glad the rider is ok
