A spokesman for Scotland Yard said: “A marked police vehicle was involved in a road traffic collision at 12.55am in Essex Road at the junction with Halliford Street. Two police officers who were travelling in the vehicle have been taken to hospital. No other vehicle was involved in the collision. The car was answering an emergency call.”

Just East of Bermondsey tube station around 8:20 this morning I saw an ambulance crew attending a person on the central resservations. I didn't see details but noticed a dark Boardman lying on the ground. Hope the person is ok.

A very sad day. My thoughts are with the rider's friends and family.

The 31-year-old lorry driver was arrested in connection with the incident and is now in custody at a south London police station.

Any witnesses are asked to call the road death investigation unit at Catford on 020 8285 1574.

My thoughts are with the rider's family.

A cyclist, believed to be a woman, has been killed in a road traffic collision at Tower Bridge Road/Abbey Street.

A cyclist has died following a collision with a motor vehicle last night (Thursday 14th July) on Kew Bridge.

Eye-witnesses report that the cyclist was knocked off his bike whilst crossing the bridge.

I went past around 8:45 and saw a woman being looked after by the ambulance, may have been a leg injury. A bicycle lay in the road close to her but could have been a helper's. @se1 on twitter reports a collision between a motorbike and a pedestrian.
