Having a clear out after a series of upgrades.
First of all is a set of P2 disc forks I had on my pompetamine. These were second hand when I bought but are tough steel and still do the job fine. The steerer is cut and is a little short for an xl pomp (will measure shortly ed 250mm ish). They have a crown race and gyro star nut and top cap which meanzzz bar spinnzzzz £10 SOLD SOLD SOLD
Next is a pair of nitro moustache bars which were the wrong shape for me, glad I tried them though. Have a few little scratches where I put brakes and a few old bit of tape which will clean off easy. £20 SOLD SOLD SOLD
Now a detachable frame mounting dutch style front rack. This thing is heavy and very strong, you and the bike and the road beneath you will fail before this thing. Totally overkill for what I need and thus for sellz still in great nick with no major scratches. £30 SOLD
Last is a sturmy archer XL-RD5(W) hub. This a new 5 speed hub with mahousive drum brake. The brake is properly awesome with loads of stopping power. The gears are currently less good and the hub needs stripping with some new grease. I unfortunately don't have the tool to do this so will sell it cheap. I comes with all the needed hardware except the anti twist washers which are cheap and available here
This is a really good hub with a very useable range of gears for a commuter.
£50 Price dropping.....
£40Can't sort out the photos at the mo but here is a link

Pick up in peckham is preferred, though i often venture up town or ride to Reading.Will/Have donated to forum for all it's excellentness.

Yeh I've been looking at the disc trucker fork too. Want extra rack mounts than are on the pompetamine fork and my current p2 fork has too short a steerer so need a new fork. Was thinking that that the slightly shorter axle to crown and greater offset of the thorn fork will improve handling when I have a full porteur rack? Or is this unnoticeable? It's only 10mm for each dimension over the disc trucker.

This ride looks fun. Just done a min tour with brother over the paris roubaix cobbles so I think it be ok in the practicality staes. It is single speed though. How hilly is this route? Will I suffer? It is 190km so quite long. Also I'm not sure about the date. Hmmm lots of dithering going on here, but the idea looks fun.
Oh and I have a front rack with my own custom made bag so would totally fit in. The bag is ridiculously huge so would be total overkill unless I was carrying everyone else's stuff.

So I need some new forks for my pompetamine. The P2's I have at the moment have too short a steerer and I need higher bars for touring. I also have a front rack and I was wandering about trying to get some forks that will improve the handling (which is ok at the moment but it can be better). I guess the head tube angle is too slack to make it amazing but would something with a more rake be better? It needs a disc mount.
What is there around? Don't want to go custom as I don't want to put loads of monies on this bike.

I'm currently enjoying the new Chrome rack bag.

Yeh I had a look at one of those, though it didn't suit me enough for the price tag. Looks good quality though.

It looks like I might be going to watch L'enfer du Nord this year. Anyone have any suggestions of where to watch it? I'll want to be on pave and will be riding there. My brother is setting off on a ride to Melbourne, and I'm accompanying him on the first week. Or set off date is friday 11th April, which lands us perfectly in france for Paris Roubaix on the Sunday, yay!

@ Harold, haha good on him. He's a braver man than me, actually going on the tube with the great British public.
I notice he had a pic of the original tube map on his blog. I'd be interested to know how he went about getting permission for that and how long it took. I'd like to post up the original tube map here as a comparison to mine, but don't want to break any copyright and had heard TFL were fiercely protective of it.
To be honest, I doubt he did anything official, just put it up. TFL are so disorganised the chances of someone taking affront at a forum thread and nil.
For your map drawing project, I have the GPS coordinates of all the tube stations which I should be able to easily over put on a satellite photo, or give to you to do. Actually if you can give me the GPS data of your rides then I might be able to do that too. This claim is assuming that all the data is in the same format I'm used to using, though the chances of this happening are slim. Could possibly take just half an hour though.....

Great to see an off topic project. Really interesting.
