unless you want a uber solid feeling drive, and lightweight. In which case a TRIKE is not the answer anyway.
Think I'm alright there! Oh are there anti twist washers on both sides? If not would it be possible to put them on?
Ok so I'll go for it. Now just to decide between roller or disc brake. Disc brake will require an adaptor for the rear drop out. I'll give SJS a call and see what they suggest.

Actaully anyone want to join in with my ace-band-idea-of-the-week?
We'd be an instrumental band making music about cyclists, kinda halfway between Dirty Three and Kraftwerk, and be called "Omerta"
We could put out an EP about Armstrong, indurain and Pantani...
It would be called EPO...
Anyone???
I'll be back next week for another ace-band-idea
-
Man I wish I was in a band and could warrant buy more gear.
Really want one of these
http://ashdownmusic.com/products/1/Bass-Amplification/1/Valve/11/Little-Bastard-/
30w all tube bass head. Awesome.Actually one of these with a light weight 1x10 cab would be ace for an upright in a pub. MOAR TUBEZZ

dooks, look at mark bass. I've got one of their heads, 250w, carry it in a gig bag it's so light. Think you can get one for around the £200 area.
As for cabs this guy is uk based and very good and light apparently
http://barefacedbass.com/I've got one of these which is great, but US made so not sure how easy they are to find
http://www.schroedercabinets.com/mini12+.htm
I used to walk with bass and head on my back and carry the cab to the train station.Actually you can borrow my rig if you want as it's getting dusty.
Or for second hand you can go wild here
http://basschat.co.uk/forum/20-amps-and-cabs-for-sale/Or even better do as Soil and Pimp did when I saw them some years ago. Upright bass through a Vintage SVT head and 8x10 cab. BIG.

So I'm thinking of getting a nuvinci hub as my sturmey archer is having serious torque issues.
How is your hub doing, particularly when you're putting the power down in bottom gear?
Also how meaty are the anti twist washers and axle? Is there a big washer to anti twist or just a token tab? The sturmey archer washers keep distintigrating due to my awesome power. I think I really need some sort of torque arm like on a rholoff but I certainly don't have the monies for one of them. The dropouts are also looking a bit knackered. Not a happy transmission.

Timing was critical to catch this image of November 3rd's solar eclipse. But flying at 44,000 feet, intrepid eclipse chasers on a chartered jet traveling 500 miles per hour managed to intercept the the Moon's shadow. The remarkable flight made a perpendicular crossing of the central shadow track. Darkening the skies beyond the wing tip at that moment, the Moon's shadow was moving at some 8,000 miles per hour across the Atlantic Ocean, 600 miles southeast of Bermuda. After only an instant of totality, this snapshot captured the lunar disk in silhouette. Rays of sunlight shining past peaks and valleys along the lunar limb created the fleeting appearance of a glistening diamond ring.

I was thinking about this but the viewfinder looks to be about £100 anyway. Also trying to remember what the ISO setting is would be annoying. Also it is very easy to change things by accident, especially the flash. And it's meant to be my wifes camera and such things would piss her off.
It tried to take it apart earlier to see if it's just a dodgy connector but it is very against being taken apart it seems.
-
If that is the case, what should I replace them with? Anything better than a 20d for being a strong controllable dslr that shouldn't break (unless it has too many long drops onto concrete floors) for £100?
And what about a compact like a GRD that's tough, has a prime lens, has ISO and aperture controls and is around £100 second hand?
-
So I went from having two great cameras to none. Both need fixing or are possibly dead.
The first is a Ricoh GRD 1, which the kids did some sort of kid magic to and now the screen looks like a slightly stripy lcd trip. Still takes photos, but I have no control and there is no chance in changing the settings.
The second is a canon 20d which did a 5ft drop onto a concrete floor and now doesn't turn on.
What are the chances of getting these fixed? Both were second hand and cost just over £100 each and can be replaced with a second hand one for the same price.
Worth it?

Basschat is a very odd place. A mixture of old punks who still can't play bass, people who play in their church band and self confessed 50 year old bedroom players who continually order £6k 9 string basses.
Oh and those who pick up the spoils of cheep second hand gear.
