To carry 4 kids and stuff should Mrs Hefty get :
http://shop.johnny-loco.com/cargo-dutch-delight-1.html
Or
http://www.nihola.com/products/letvaegtsladcykeltilboernefamilier.html
They work out about the same dorrah once specced up.
I've got a christiania and have a bit of experience with triking around and my wives experiences. Get the ones with the lowest gears or the one which weighs the least. The top one one you link I believe is stupidly heavy, and even though you're filling it with stuff that extra weight will make a big difference. Especially if you're going anywhere up a slope. My wife finds it very tough getting ours up a hill, the power weight ratio of a smaller person really tells when you're moving a heavy bike. This can be balanced if you have very low gears. I've not tried the nihola, but basically all trikes handle like poo because you can't lean. Road camber is really annoying, as are mini roundabouts which camber outwards and make turning at anything other than a crawl a nightmare. But it is ace to ferry round four kids at a go!

My brother is looking for a little camera to take touring. He's no camera geek so a point and shoot will work fine.
A request of his which is a little trickier is that he doesn't want to take a battery charger and would like to charge the camera like it's a phone off his solar charger.
Any ideas about this? I can't seem to find anything that can do this? Bit tricky to search for.

If I'm not mistaken, the jig you're building only alows for frames which have the same head tube and seat tube angle, as in the head and seat tubes are parallel. Is this not a bit of a limitation? Or am I being silly and this actually true of all bike (I think not) or is the jig more sophisticated than I thought.

anyone ever done/ seen a big mince pie or tart in the same vein of apple pies/tarts. I mean we have little apple pies and bigger apple pies/tarts, shouldn't it work with mince too? shouldn't it be incredible?! gf is going to try concoct one but just wanted to see if anyones ever seen it done before.
i'm becoming a fat fuck thanks to these bastard confections. must ride more.
Yes, make a massive mince pie. My mum used to make this when she was sick of making mince pies, or the speed at which we used to eat them, and just used a big tart tin, same pastry, same mincemeat, maybe a bit lattice work on the top if you're feeling fancy. Less work but will fill up lots more people.

Can I have some sturmey archer help here please?
Does anyone know which direction the thread is on the ball ring on a sturmey archer speed hub? this is the newer rd5 hub.
This one http://www.sturmey-archer.com/products/hubs/cid/4/id/33.html
And this is the part http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/sturmey-archer-ball-ring-nig-hsa437-prod19160/
I can't make out which direction the htread is in this picture.
Also does anyone have a C spanner for removing one of these? I'm currently try the hammer and lockring spanner/punch but it's not budging. I used this technique before and it worked fine. I can't remember the thread direction and it's being very stubborn.

I'm only think of really expensive ones at the moment, celinder, overwater, sei, sadowsky, having a look on the bass chat lists…
This is pretty awesome if you want to try a graphite neck
http://basschat.co.uk/uploads/monthly_10_2013/post-16956-0-00770100-1382628429.jpg
And this is only £300

It seems my job on this thread is to search bass chat classifieds for others. Maybe I need to find a reason to buy more guitars.

Cheers for the trade tips, don't mind spending £7 if it means a decent sale or swap.
Last question; I know the whole thing is excessive anyway as the pedal goes for silly money on ebay (between 500-650) - I for that price I should be asking for a US jazz right? Or would a MX be more suitable?
Good luck for the gig dooks - I can't come as I'm practicing tonight. And I live miles away. Genre sounds interesting though...
Do you definitely want a fender? There are loads of very decent fender copies out there which might be better quality, and can be a better deal second hand. I'm talking about hand built, small companies, not mass produced stuff. I'm sure if you put an add on bass chat many will be offered to you.

Pretty sure that it'll work fine.
The issue is when you're using normal caliper/cantilever levers with v-brakes. V-brakes require more pull so caliper/cantilever levers don't pull enough which then gives you almost no braking until it locks up the brakes.
With a v-brake lever you're going to be pulling too much cable. Which just means your brakes are a bit more sensitive which you can adapt to.
What type of bike is it? If you're not willing to pay for a different lever then I assume it's not a performance issue so I'd just live with it.
I'm trying to get more brake power on m bodged together trike. The lever is a modified dual v brake lever, the calipers are dual pivots, I can't change this set up with out new wheels and disc brakes. I'm hoping to get some more lever pull as the moment it only moves about a cm. THis should give a bit more leverage to help squeeze the brakes against the rims. At the moment you really have to pull hard to stop due to the trike being so heavy.

ok definitely getting marzipan for the next batch. Need to up stakes as I'm using bought mince meat due to forgetting to make it again. To bling up bought mincemeat, and some extra apple and booze as the mas produced stuff always scrimps on this to make it last longer.
Oh and clotted cream loses to brandy butter, or rum butter, or whiskey butter, or apple brandy butter, booze + butter + sugar.....

Thanks for the heads up, there seems very little about it written anywhere.
