I have managed to have surgery on both my knees (not Bike related) over the last ten years. The most recent being 2 months ago. I am concerned that I am not going to be able to ride fixed anymore because of the strain of constant peddling and stopping. I like to ride pretty fast and I dont want to end up with some wimpy gear ratio that take all the power and fun out of my ride.
Have any of you had any experiences with knee problems riding fixed gear? Or, possibly any advice pertaining to knees and fixies?
Cheers!

Thats an American looking street to me. I say she's an upstate NY girl hair and all!

Alright Smartarses! If it's so easy, might you tell me where to find this "Insurance for the Bike"? I dont know anyone in the US who has bike insurance unless it's part of their home contents insurance. So my appanrent ignorance of this is due to it not being very common where I'm from.
Oh yeah and....Halleuja!!

Another question about my Falcon? I have a early to mid 80's Falcon frame made with Reynolds 531 tubing and is in great shape. I am doing a fixie conversion with it. I have had it resprayed a really nice dark metallic blue. I wrote to the Falcon Co. and they sent me some really nice Falcon Decals free of charge.
My Dilemma is weather to put the Decals on the bike to show what kind of bike it is or not? I don't know what the reputation for Falcon Bicycles is and might not want to advertise if everyone thinks Falcons are total shit? The bike isn't shit at all, it's actually a really nice ride?
I'm definitely interested is what y'all think??

Speaking of trying breaking locks. My girlfriend and I went out riding when she discovered the key to the massive Kryptonite lock and chain she had around her waist dropped of her key chain somewhere along the ride! We went to a hardware store where they tried bolt cutters, It bent the bolt cutters, we went to a lock smith who worked on it for an hour, he couldn't do it either. We ended up having to go to the local fire station where they covered her with fireproof blankets and started going at the lock with a massive diamond blade saw! Sparks flying everywhere, my girlfriend enjoying the attention way to much, and me feeling like a useless little boy They managed to get through it after 20 minutes! Those locks don't cost a fortune for nothing. I love my lock maybe more than my girlfriend.
I had meniscus surgery on both knees. I have to just take it a bit easy and I cant ride quite as hard as I used to and take a break at the sign of any pain. The whole thing really bums meet out. My bike is a massive part of my life and I feel awful when I cant ride. Old age I suppose. C'est La Vie.....sigh...
