Might go and hang out at the library for a bit, do a bit of street drinking and see who turns up.... Sometimes it's quite nice just to bump into some of the faces who aren't always at SB and have a chat...I'm not big on the actual ride tho', in fact my opinion of the ride has been pretty much been summed up by all of you lot already....
If anyone fancies swinging by we could always have our own German themed "Fixed Mass" and go for a Glühwein or 2 before we get stuck at the SB for the night?

It was cold, wet and generally about as bad a day as you could plan for an Alleycat, which made finishing all the sweeter, here we are once we'd warmed up and had a few ales.....
More pictures from the day (coutersy of Liam Walsh) here

could get a custom Squarebuilt like this?
bar spins ahoy...!It does look a bit odd but it belongs to Joe Krillz in NYC and he's must be at least 6'4", i had a ride but was feeling like i was being internally examined by the saddle!
Oh... and the fetching Mauve paintjob is actually kinda like 3M reflective so the whole bike glows/reflects at night... looks great... and Rospa would love it....

In Williamsburg, tiny apartment cum hostel (6 beds?), more like staying at someones apartment, mellow owners who live there too... 5mins walk from the L line subway, $50 a night, Great...!! did 5 nights there recently with my bike.... Recommended for a budget stay...

Just got back from Ny and stayed in a hostel in Wburg... But not your normal hostel... Basically someones apartment but with 3 bunk beds in 2 rooms, so it's pretty much like staying in an apartment.... And it's 2mins from the L line subway and Wburg bridge if you're cycling.... Perfect.... PM Me for the contact details....

Think the reflectors are only a legal req when you sell a bike... 2 brakes is the normal one, but a back fixed should count as one... The bell i'm not sure possibly under london byelaws but don't think it's a general thing.... Was in NY And heard of police stopping people going over the Wburg bridge and pulling people for similar stupid supposed violations.... Clearly not enough stabbings/doughnuts to keep them busy...!

I'm in NYC on thursday too (just for 5 days), taking my fixed, first stop is the Peel Session Thurday night un the Brooklyn Queens expressway in Williamsburg... Get on Fixed.gr for more details you might well be able to get a bike from the forum...?
Get back to me if you want to ride or drink.... think i'll be living it up with the Williamsburg Hipsters....
ok so i fly to NYC with work on wednesday, i'll be touring the whole of the states for 6 weeks. i want to buy a cheapish bike, pref 2nd hand. don't tell me craig's list, i don't have time to mess about. wanna just turn up, buy and ride away.
is there a good NYC forum? searched on here and didn't come up with much.
i know of the trackstar shop but that's out of my budget for a bike that i'm prolly not gonna use for more than 6 weeks...
any help would be appreciated.....
If it said F&F & headset for £135, then yeah, that would be misleading.....
But it doesn't... get a fork elsewhere, if you don't like the price don't buy, but it's pretty cheap for a frame....
