I ordered DT Competition DB silver 278/278 for the front and 278/279 for the back (BLB recommended sizing for 3 cross). I have since been thinking about radial for the front but that would be a different size again, right?

I have just called BLB and they have Alpina DB 278s in stock that i could buy on-route tonight.

or if you have something similar then even better...

thanks rjs. i know its usually the case, and i will check later anyway, but i had the same thing happen with another package on tuesday and it only arrived at the local office this morning, despite it being only a few blocks from my home. it's not so superfast down in these here SW16 parts..... damn these teensy-good-for-noth'n-doorslot-excuses-for-a-decent-sized-mailbox. i need one of those great rural australian ones, you know, like an old keg on a stake.

so the postie came, unsurprisingly couldn't fit the package into the mail box but didn't ring the bell to let me know, even though i am working at home today, specially. instead he took his time filling out a 'sorry you weren't in' card so that i might go, in 48 hours time, to pick it up my package of spokes at the local post office. $%#!@^

ok.... there's still a chance it will all work out but it's thursday morning and i am still waiting to have my spokes delivered. they could/should/will arrive sometime today.... fingers crossed.

(jimalex - Fuck yeah for tourers! I got mine third-hand five years ago and i've only ever had two flats. things have worn out, but never broken. compare that to my other show pony bikes....hmmmm. i'm currently moving house, albeit slowly, with this beast of a bike.)

re:storage. for a while i had 4 bikes and 2 frames stacked on the wall and floor at the end of the bed and 2 in the yard of the flat below. bike origami! things get easier once you start thinking about your flat as a shed. it also helps if your partner feels the same way....

Right, got the hubs, got the rims, now i'm down to the spokes too. BLB helpfully measured it all up and advised for 3 cross I needed 278/278 for the front and 279/278 for the rear (hope that makes sense). But they didn't have any DT swiss in stock. If anyone has any silver spokes/nipples to this spec that i can buy, please let me know. thanks,

me too. i'm in for a group buy on spokes etc if it works out. I have 32h high flange dura ace hubs and (hopefully) Velocity deep v's to work with.
