Thanks for the support everyone. It was an amazing experience to be racing at such an event.
Did anyone see the penny crash? Everyone walked away, though there as some blood and a big wheel died - Penny farthing crash at the 2013 London nocturne, rear facing on bike camera. - YouTube

There was a Nocturne special pullout thing in the Evening Standard yesterday - my penny farthing-obsessed colleague left it on my desk this morning as there's going to be a penny farthing race!! Exciting!
I was in that : )
Just swapped my massively comfortable suspended saddle for a small hard racing saddle. The position is much more aggressive, right over the wheel, which means I have better purchase on the pedals to respond to the tight and twitchy course and can lean right over for a bit of penny aero but a pebble might just flick me into an 'imperial crowner'. Hmmmm

Thanks MissMouse for your thoughts.
I'm sad I don't get a jersey too : (
But words are never just words (and I'm particularly sensitive to them given my vocation). They come from complex social, cultural and historical etymologies and they produce and reproduce expectations, assumptions, possibilities and limitations in everyday life. And this particular word is not working for me at present, though I very much like your argument about reclaiming and reshaping it's meaning. I'm all for that. It's just that it's a massive undertaking, as you mention due to it's use as a standard term for women's wear. But things do change .... -
dtm0121- It's a size '2' and yes I will post (I've amended the listing - i was initially hesitant as I am moving house and I've a huge list of things to do/move about etc). Let me know if you still want it.
tommmmm - the grey/orange one is the biggest of all of them and quite stretchy. It says '2' in the label but I'd say it was closer to a medium..... You are welcome to pop by and try it on.
Missmouse - they came from various jumbles and race day. I've got quite a rainbow collection now : )

Arrgh, sorry, but I'm out.
Looks like there are enough takers for my absence not to interfere with the scale of production/purchase plan.

Just took delivery of my third pair of Swrve shorts today. Can't recommend them enough. This pair - cotton 3/4's, size 30, slate blue. The other two are still going strong. Looking a little worn, expectedly, but not a hole or tear after a year. That is pretty amazing in my experience.
