Okay here we go: a (sadly) negative thread here. I thought it would be interesting for people to air their beefs/annoyances/upsets/egobruisings about those "Londoners" (I'm including anyone you've encountered in London here - born and bred, works, lived here for a few years etc.) who decide to make a negative deal out of us enjoying our bit of fulfilment in life. I'll start off with two, one serious one just rather rude:
1) I was cycling around Peckham way last Saturday when a cabbie decided to swing wildly into bus lane with the fairly plain intent of making me plough into some parked cars. I had a standoff with him at the next lights as my buddy got the licence number and he was actually laughing when I challenged him about it, suggesting he really did do it cos he didn't like me or cyclists or both; unfortunately he couldn't beat the Clapham Slapper at its most determined and I thus berated him every lights from Peckham to Vauxhall, including when he'd just picked up a passenger, so they knew what kind of horrible person they'd be paying their money to.
**2) A rather sour woman working in a renowned Old St "proper pub" (it's a reliable kind of place..) just now started a moody rant about how I'd been pissed there three times in the last few months (er...it's a pub) by saying, "What the f*ck is with the hat?" I explained it was a cycling hat, I was a cyclist and was just having my first pint of the evening after a long day. She looked at me like I had just taken a leery dump in her handbag, then hit me with hat-based vitriol for a good five minutes. Okay so I wear a few geeky cycle caps, jeez. **

STOP THE PRESSES
I just got off the phone from Michael Elson who distributes Vitorria and he confirmed the all white Zaffiro Pro and Rubino Pro will be hitting UK stores "within the month" or so. No price premium.
Are we saying they'll be a reasonable price similar to current Rubinos?
All-White for under twenty quid a pair? AWWWWWWHITE!!!!!

Wiggle has it that offwhite/black striped 23, 25 and whatever other daft permutation they did 'em in are DISCONTINUED.
I remember seeing Pete D's on his beautiful pastel olive number over in Barbican end of last summer and thinking, "yeeeeeeah boy" and got me a pair or three sharpish. IMHO they have been rather sure o'er London's glass-strewn wheelways - after a brief conv with Sainsbury's Ed last night I know he too gives 'em the thumbs up.
Where oh where will we white-Zaffiro refuseniks find some now, at the very reasonable price they could be bought at? BLB I ain't including you, sorry...

nice to see you too DocA.. and yep I second the Doc's sentiments, nice drinks Mashton and great to meet a few more of the lfgss scritterati..Bobob once more I do love those lemon tyres of yours, go so well with the lugged Stanley. Pics on Names and Faces don't do 'em justice, I think you should eschew the white for at least a bit.....see whoever tomorrow for East....
it would be interesting to know what trains / networks won't let you get on, seriously. I never seem to have a problem, then again maybe I just put my bike on and lock it to something. Are we talking about The North here? Not taking the piss, seriously it would be useful to know if there are networks heading out of London who don't let you, we all have to travel beyond bike distance sometimes...
I feel incensed and I didn't even know about this.....
