For what its worth. I use Pro race 2's on a road bike I have. They are rapid but after some experimentation they must be run, imo in excess of 110 psi to dodge punctures this may be specific to my style and rims but since this high pressure NO punctures, they are skittish in the wet, no doubt about that and don't inspire confidence, in me anyway.
I have Vredestein Fortezza TriComps on my good bike and fixed wheel bike. These are my new favourite. Low rolling resistance. They feel quick and are stable in the wet. I run these in excess of 120 psi. Ive never had a puncture on them. crosses fingers
I have never tried Continental GP 4'S but they get fantastic feedback from users. I will give them a go next time I need tyres.

I should point out I'm 31 and have no interest in getting one of these bad boys, just yet.
I geuinely wanted to know if they climbed like , a mountain pass climb. You know how you can get out of the saddle on you traditional bike and give it some if required when the road steepens. Obviously you cant do that on a recumbunt. Does that mean there are limits to its climbing abilities?
I cant believe the length of the chains! Fuck me! You dont want to snag your strides in that :0)

Speaking as a Langster driver. They arent bad to ride, the geometry stinks to look at though.
I like the the 'standard' one for 09' The head tube is ridiculous. I like a compact frame but its far too long at the head tube. Only the small Langsters look good the bigger frames look like farmers gates.
It is a tad close to the pista though, agreed. I like the polished look. Its a shame Specialized cant revert back to the geometry used on the original Langster. They looked alot tighter.
I saw one on e-bay in the U.S. a while ago, a Langster comp, early geometry it was silver with black decals looked much more like it.
I dont hate them, I ride one, but having said that my desire to build something unique to me, having seen some cracking looking bikes on here is strong!
The new one's for 09 are not to my taste.

Sorry.
Have you tried a carradice saddle bag with one of the quick release fittings? Then no back problems no wide panniers and quick to get on and off. I think they look classy too. Not what your asking I know but I thought I'd throw it in there.
Fair play. I am after something minimal though. I thought a musette might have fitted the bill. As I say I don't have that much kit to carry but I don't like stuffing it in my jersey pockets. Other suggestions welcome.:)

The 50-pound note of the musette world: http://www.rapha.cc/index.php?page=476
£60! Nice, I like it, alot but not for that money. I was looking at a spend of £5 earth pounds only!

anyway, my plan was to do it up, renovate back into something road worthy, and fixed gear... aside from the stuck seat post/ stem/ cranks etc I wanted to know...
is it fundamentally wrong to have it re-sprayed with a different logo on it? will anyone notice? has anyone here done it?
Im a bit confused by this to be honest. I don't think its a question of ethics. You bought a shonky old frame from flea bay and you want to fix it up. Go for it. Who cares what anyone else thinks about your bike as long as your happy with it. What ever you do to it.
If it was me I would make a name up for it and get a local printers to do decals for it job done.
However if you fixed up the frame and tried to pass it off as something else for example back on ebay badged as, say a Hetchins, Dave Yates, whatever then yes that would be snide. Or not? depending on your outlook.

Oh, my bad, not full dura-ace. Still good tho', was very very tempted to buy it and make a ghetto lo-pro (and put the disk on the back of my geoffrey butler :D
Disc is only wheel covers bit pony but, yeah, a good spot there. You should have got that, good kit, a set of risers on there one sweet, cheap ride.

yeah there was a schwinn with a disk wheel/24inch front BIN from america £250 delivered to the UK. Full Dura - Ace ;)
That, my friend, is a rip off.
Fair play*, that *is a good deal. I am smitten by the retro flavour of the early eighty's stuff. I would give 500 dorrah for the lo pro its been done nicely, no more though.
