I emailed boris to ask why the south side pavement of Mile End road, which is about 5 metres wide for a lot of the length, didn't have the cycle lane painted onto it rather than the more dangerous road.
Got a slightly defensive reply from someone at tfl talking about segregated cycle paths and how they were installing them where they could, nothing to do with my original question.
Now, why the hell do you paint a blue line on the road when it's still legal to drive and park in them. Why paint a cycle path that's only 2 metres long on a back street? God this is tedious.

I've just bought myself a nice Raleigh frame which is a perfect fit. It has a couple of superficial rust patches where the paint has scuffed off but other than that it appears solid.
Now. Just wondering where I could get a strip and respray done and how much it might cost. I want just one colour all over.
Thanks!

You can't deny that they've got a good business model, and yes I agree that more people choose PCs for their familiarity (workplace etc), and yes, buyers keep coming back because everything is proprietary, made by apple, and incompatible with non-apple hardware and software addons/upgrades largely. However, I don't think it is purely their business model that has brought them success. They are a highly fashionable brand. People will buy their products because they are "cooler". It's a trendiness thing.
Microsoft made the Zune media player a few years back. It flopped. Apple at this moment in time could launch a hell of a lot of stupid items, which would still sell millions on the first day simply because of their brand.

Apple are on the constant rise because of the cult following they've gathered. It's like a new trend that never goes out of fashion. They've hit a point where they seem to be a bit of a religious cult. It demonstrates how far people are willing to go to be like everybody else.
I wonder which way apple share prices will go when Steve Jobs goes...

Thanks Wingedangel.. I realize I came across as a massive have a go hipster on the first post. I spent my summer repairing bikes in a local bike shop, so I know my stuff, just never really got used to fixies. I just need an old beater with a fixed rear wheel which is my size to get used to before I invest any real money/time/effort in building one up!

The brake levers (seen at http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Shimano_R600_Brake_Levers/5300002544/?referid=frogoog&source=googleps) - some small scuffs from normal wear, they're still in very good condition.
£25
The bars are nice, really light aluminium, not sure what make they are but they are very sturdy. A few small superficial scratches to the coating due to normal wear and tear
£15
Or both for £35

I didn't mean decent as in incredible! I meant as in decent enough. Not about to fall apart. Not a cheap chinese mail order frame.
I don't have much money. I want to play around with a fixed gear bike before I decide whether or not I'd like to ride one more often.
An old frame around 60cm, fixed hub, just a functioning fixed gear bike. Is £100 too little to ask?
I'm sure I could build one for less with a £30 531 frame after some searching on ebay (I've been through a couple of 531 bikes in the past that cost me about that off ebay!- the two I grabbed were too small which is a shame) and an old third hand fixed wheelset, I don't need nitto bars or mavic wheels or a sugino crankset. I want a basic, old parts fixie. I just don't have the time for a project until summer, having exams soon etc.
If anyone has a slightly crappy fixed gear bike they want to get rid of, that didn't cost too much to make, all I was asking was whether you'd give it to me for £100.
God you guys are like rabid monkey arses.

How much for the wheelset? Cheers
