I'm getting freaked out by cyclists who overtake with zero space. I almost had a nervous breakdown on the CS7 tonight but a cyclist had a chat with me about the IOW randonnee at the lights and I chilled out again.
Someone overtook me track style the other day. He was at my rear wheel for a while then overtook within inches of a collision. Pretty scary.

do you know the reason the bike was stored? thats an important one
Plus you get a process called stress relaxation of the bolts over time, where they slowly lengthen with long term constant stress, and need to be tightened after being dormant for ages.

I don't think it will cost anywhere near £20 for one. There is a patent pending on this design as well. I should have a sample on me later and think I'm heading to SE beers if anyone is interested in this fascinating bit of plastic!
I don't understand what it is they'd have a patent on. The use of the flex in the plastic to hold it onto a bike as a fender? I had a slightly different idea where it would work in a similar way to those snap wristbands. Don't know if that would infringe on thier pending patent though...

This is the most comfortable bike you'll ever ride, feeling like you are in a mobile sofa rather than on a bike. Due to the fact that it has allowed many people with back problems to ride again, it has also been showcased in design museums for its ergonomic advantages.
It literally turns heads everywhere I ride it, and I get shouts like "love your bike!" all the time. In the last week alone I have had three people stop me in the street and ask if they can take a picture of me. I took it to LFGSS Souths recently and I think every single person there wanted a go. This bike will make people love you.
Would make a good backup bike for if you're recovering from a topple/just fancy a relaxed ride from time to time.

It's called a prototype for a reason. I used the cover of a ring binder I had to hand when I read the post and decided to try making one.
Was looking into making improvements and having a company laser cut/score some out of thick but flexible LDPE for me.

Reading all this shit talk about the 'sacrilegious' po-lopro is hilarious!To all you folks getting your panties in a bunch over what has happened to the Orrell...It's one of fucking hundreds of lo-pros that would have gone the same way as the majority of other lo-pros which have been bought and sold through ebay and this very forum.
Everybody wets their pants when they see curvy tubes and a garish 8O's paintjob which is still intact and they have dreams of owning one...so they buy one, spend months searching for a perfect 24" or 65Oc front wheel...usually make do with an old box section wolber which doesn't match their rear H+son, but oh well, the 4" rise bars will help...then they ride them to the pub a few times before deciding that their backs hurt too much, and then they re-sell them to another forum member with dreams of owning one to fully rebuild to it's former glory....they then spend months hunting down the period correct parts and disc wheels....then they ride it to the pub a few times before deciding their backs hurt too much and the cycle continues.At least this time somebody has decided to put one to good use. All this talk of blasphemy is bollocks.
What's more blasphemous...having an old pink lo-pro sitting in your hallway being ridden to the pub once or twice each summer, or having the balls to chop one to pieces and make something else out of it that will actually get used regularly?Well done I say. Beats the hell out of seeing another boring old track bike built back up with vintage campag and brooks saddle and tape which will also only get ridden a few times because it's 'too nice' to ride in the rain!
I agree 100%, well done sir! People need to get out of this ornament bike mentality and accept that some people are that little bit more willing to innovate and modify.

I was referring to the fact that parked cars wouldnt be allowed to be on the cycle lane, and rush hour gridlock traffic wouldnt be at a standstill in the cycle lane. And beginner/novice cyclists are often killed while attempting to filter through outer lanes.
I personally stay safe by staying in the primary position on the left lane. Ive ridden for years without any accidents. Having a clear cycle lane would help non-pro cyclists a lot, especially on the euston road, whitechapel road etc where many collisions happen. Thats all I was saying.
I just wanted a discussion on making cycling infrastructure a little better, especially for inexperienced cyclists.

I hate having to get off my bike and walk around gridlock traffic where drivers have taken no consideration of the cycle lane amongst the stress of being stuck in traffic for hours, and are instead sat right over the cycle lane. I usually overtake and filter round, but filtering can be terrifying to someone who is new to cycling. And sometimes there isn't even the space to filter during rush hour.
I've been told its impractical to ban cars from the cycle lane due to road width limitations, but why not introduce legislation to keep cars moving if they do enter the cycle lane i.e. treat the cycle lane like a box junction. They can move over into the cycle lane whilst travelling, but if they stop within it they risk being fined. So gridlock traffic stays out of the cycle lane, and out of the way of newer cyclists...
