Cheers VeeVee. That's clear and concise without the meandering rant that I'd have embarked on.
You've even managed to cover the issue without diverting away from sheep and straying into the realms of how keeping pets is immoral kipnapping and how riding horses is akin to child rape (as I would have done)
Vive Wikipedia! To be honest I didn't know anything about the issue and as I love wool and just bought myself 2 light merino tee-shirts for the summer your comment made me want to research it. I'm intrigued to know what cycling gear you wear though.

I don't think they have to kill the morino's to get the wool off them. If they did it at the start of summer i'm sure the little fella's would be glad to loose the winter coat. So see it's super animal friendly.
Animal welfare developments
In Australia, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mulesing and Nordstrom and George (UK) stopped stocking Merino wool products.
In 2008 mulesing once again became a topical issue in Sweden with a documentary on mulesing shown on Swedish television.[9] This was followed by allegations of bribery and intimidation by Australian government and wool industry officials,[10] the allegations were disputed by the wool industry[11]. Several Swedish and European clothing retailers, including H&M, Zara (clothing), and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lindex[/I]].
New strains of merinos that don't require mulesing are being promoted in South Australia.[12] 'Thin-skinned' sheep from western Victoria are also being promoted as a solution. -
I know a very good acupuncturist (based in London Bridge). I see him for a non-injury related problem but after I fractured my elbow and hurt my wrist the treatment he gave me really helped. I also like the fact that acupuncture looks at your entire body rather than just the part that hurts. Osteopaths and physiotherapists are obviously brilliant for injuries.

Spread the love,
The Globe is a fine commuting bike but you are kind of asking on the wrong forum. There is a commuting section on BikeRadar so maybe try there for suggestions.
Go to Evans/Cycle surgery near Liverpool st and try something out, you never know, maybe after all this you'll end up with pashley princess. god knows! (He does as well, though obviously god only rides fixed.)Then Buy it from somewhere else if you don't like the price.
Chris
oh pooooh I wanted a Pashley Princess but my husband made me get a Cotic Roadrat :( I should have gone to Bikeradar

cyclists need to be given the same rights that they have in germany. there, it is an offense to overtake a cyclist without leaving a gap of more than 1.5m. Any accident involving a car and a bike will turn in the cyclists favour - that is where the benefit of the doubt lies. Cyclist have right of way.
What the fuck is this ridiculous, hair-brained scheme all about? It doesn't ingratiate cyclists to motorists if they need to pay extra for a bit of specialist cyclist-deflection kit. Also, it will make motorist more complacent towards cyclists if they know they can just 'bounce' them off. This could all be improved radically by just passing a law to give cyclists power on the road.
Very good point but I wonder if German cyclists go through as many red lights, as we do here?

Has anyone seen this (from the London Paper 12 May 2008)
New technology could save rider’s lives - Bags for cyclists
Airbags could be fitted to the outside of cars to save lives of cyclists and pedestrians, experts said today.
The bags inflate under the bonnet and at the base of the windscreen to reduce impact and prevent cyclist’s heads going through the glass. They are triggered by sensors that detect when a person is heading towards the car.
The invention has the potential to prevent dozens of fatalities said Mats Odman a spokesman for Autoliv, the Swedish manufacturer that had designed the airbags.
He said “in Europe, each year more than 10,000 pedestrians and vulnerable road-users are killed in collision with a vehicle. Most hit their head on the bonnet or the windscreen”.
Statistics show that for every kilometre travelled, a cyclist is about 20 times more likely to be killed than a car passenger. In 2006, 675 pedestrians and 146 cyclists were killed on Britain’s highways.
The London Paper 12 May 2008I've got this funny image of hitting the bag and bouncing back onto the road o:O. I also like the fact that the title is about saving cyclists lives but.... 675 pedestrians were killed in 2006 vs 146 cyclists....
There is also some photos in the Evening Standard today showing buses, cars, taxis jumping red lights AH!
