Tacx make the best non-slip BB tools readily available. They screw into the spindle and held tight against the cup by spring tension.

Mike and Hassan, can this go on the site? Or would it lead to nefarious average joe types showing up and claiming to be a member when they're not?
It's ok to go on the site as long as we have an up to date member list.
This, below, is still valid but maybe it should be re-worded?
The asscociation now has 37 members. All polo players are encouraged to join and take part in decisions that affect us all.
If you need another reason to join, Push Cycles are now offering a great discount to LHBPA members:
*
10% off all polo related merch and labor. This will be at our discretion so no Cinelli Mash framesets! But yes to Charge Scissors...**Free assisted labour after hours. This means you can use my workshop after 6pm Mon-Sat while supervised at no cost. Any tools abused/broken will be replaced/repaired by user. Please book in advance.*
***Tyres for polo use will be price matched to any advertised 700c Marathon Plus *(including postage from web shops) or trade price +VAT, whichever is greater. Again, 'polo use' is at Push's discretion. This basically means no racing tyres, super knobbly or tubeless mtb tyres or tubular tyres.I'll try to provide a list of our suppliers so people will know what they can ask for. But at the same time, we are more than willing to open accounts and order items in specially.

We waited while some guys finished their footie game, then some little scallies jumped in and tried to play half court.
They got bored and fucked off but then started throwing apples at us. Mike went to tell them to fuck off and one of their big bruvvers came over all gangster and tried to large it about, called his mates to bring some hammers, bats and knives down to sort us out.
Then he called the cops and told them Mike was threatening his little bruv with a club, then we called the cops and told them what actually happened.Cops turned up and did nothing, then the big boys crew turned up and took over the court, cops still did nothing.
All good fun.
One policewoman did suggest we asked the council for a key, or bring our own lock so we can keep the door locked while we're on court.
Sorry guys. I should have just ignored them.
Also, I would never play on that or possibly any public court if the gate was locked.

cheap marathon plus (I hope PUSH match this price)
I hope they do a price match, it costs £3.25 to ship per tyre from this place.
As our tyre price match deal* to LHBPA members is cost+postage (from online shops) their postage does bring it into a match.
*We will match advertised price + postage if applicable or trade+VAT, whichever is more.

I think it was listed in the poll disc in lpc that there would be further votes as to how many spots would be allocated if it goes to a Yes vote
...
Rik, in our hearts you are. But slapped wrists for voting. tut tut.
Max,** that vote isn't in the LPC.**
Exactly, this poll isn't in the LPC forum so non-lpc players can vote on it but it's not clarified exactly what the outcome of the vote is. 1, 2 or all Euro spots go to the London league? And then is that number voted outside of the LPC as well?
Object and Gabes, I think Roxy meant before the registration of teams for the League. In reality, I don't think it's a very big deal but in principle it is.

"The surface is plane and smooth but not slippery. As you may have read already,** it is mandatory to have at least one white tire on your rear wheel**"
hipster polo
Gormley was in Push yesterday and asked about white tyres for this tourney.
So far this is what we found...
700x35 - £16
or
700x28 - £18
Haven't found anything for 26" yet...

Jose, the word in the street is that Rigida as stop making Spukniks (the cheaper 48h you could find)
so the other solution right now are:
the Halo factory wheels that Bill and Brendan are riding, you can buy them form PUSH
or
Chukkers/deepVs that you can get from BLB
other than no more choiceThanks for the mention Rik, we also do Chukkers/DeepV's. We can sell the BLB 48h hubs, goldtec as well. The Halo 48h rims and hubs are also available separately, not just as a factory wheel.

What's the skidding obsession? Anyone who can't stop reasonably quickly on a fourty inch fixed gear really needs their legs inspected.
Sure, most people can stop a 40in fixed gear reasonably quickly but in hardcourt bike polo there is a need to stop almost instantaneously and change direction with or without possession of the ball. A hand brake will do that for you while conserving a load of your own energy.
Skidding in bike polo is just a by-product, not an obsession.

Apparently, Joe spoke to the SPA guy and SJS rep and they can no longer order them.
It's true. The Rigida distro hasn't had 48h in stock for about 6 months now.
I don't know if they're actually discontinued by Rigida or not. However there are these on the market now. Bill and Brendan both have a rear (fixed/fixed only though...) so maybe they can offer some feedback?
The hubs and rims are also available separately. -
